Big Kids bed?

posted 21st Feb '11
When did you get a Toddler bed?

What kind?

Did you just get at Twin size instead?

we have a toddler bed, but it's 400 miles away at my parents house, they are holding it for another year and a half until we move to that side of the state...

but I think our daughter is getting to be old enough for one...
and we are thinking about buying one

she's 18 months.

but I'm not sure, if we should just wait...or keep her in her crib until we move in a year and a half, or if that will be too long...

Thoughts, ideas?
Thanks

Hailee started sleeping in her Dora toddler bed at 30 months... She refused to before, and then it was like...ok, I get it, I am a big girl and I can sleep in my big girl bed!!

This is the one she has, minus the canopy.

She has a twin bed at my grandma's and refuses to sleep in it most days.

did she sleep in her crib until that point?

Iris sleeps in her toddler bed when we go visit my parents. She loves it.
SHe also still sleeps in her crib great...no trying to escape yet...

are the canopy beds built good?

We are thinking about getting her the tinkerbell one like that, but don't want to waste the money if it's not worth it.

Yes, she slept in her crib, and didn't ever try to get out.

This bed is perfect for her right now. It's sturdy and will be worth what we spent for it. Hopefully by the time she's ready for a bigger bed we'll be in a different house with a bigger room for her.

that's awesome.

I think we'll wait alittle longer then.
maybe until she starts to show she's uncomfortable in her crib...

I say don't switch until she's ready. It's the only legal cage you can put a kiddo in
We switched our daughter when she showed signs of wanting to climb out of the crib. Then it was nothing but a battle for months to keep her in bed. Our son is almost 2 and hasn't tried to climb out at all, so we're not going to coax him. We will probably switch to a toddler bed for a short time just because our crib converts, but after that we'll probably go straight to a full-size bed for him, like we did for our daughter. Because inevitably you end up laying down with them at some point ant I figure we might as well be comfortable!

When my kids reach the age of 2 I already purchase a toddler bed.

My LO has slept with me in a queen since she was 2 months. She's 2.5 now and we are finally going to be able to move into our own home soon and she will get her own room. I'm giving her a full size bed probably..

We have a crib/toddler bed/ kid bed that's still in the box. Ill probably give it away to someone who needs it. The crib and tot bed mattress are so small and LO stretches out and takes up most of the queen size. We are looking for a bed frame for a full size mattress and found cool ones that have drawers underneath for toys, etc.
