I'm not trying to make someone feel unahppy about it, and I only "keep making comments about it" because she keeps posting about it. I'm allowed to have my opinion. Would you be okay with a post called "I'm anorexic and happy about it?" I doubt it, and you'd likely feel like you had a right to judge that person for being unhealthy and encourage them to get help. I'm not even judging anyone with my comments. And yes, I'm assuming that it's what you'd do, so maybe I'm wrong, but there would be other people who would if it wasn't you. I'd be all for a "I'm overweight, but trying to become healthier" or "I'm anorexic but looking to be healthier" thread.

I didn't say that was the case. But you are generalizing every fat person into one category.

And if there was a thread like that, I would read, respond or join because that's is their own choices.

I've considered getting lap band surgery, in fact I did everything and I qualify for it.. except I just haven't gone to a pre-surgery support group meeting. I think I got sort of freaked about having a device in my body for life.

You know what Alyssa, If you don't like it then you should go make campaigns or whatever. But leave us alone!

We want a place where we can gain support from fellow fatties, and if you're not here to support us then we don't want you to be here!!!

We are adults, Capable of making our own choices. Leave us alone.

And what did I do besides read and respond?

You're acting like I said that fat people don't deserve to be healthy or self confident. That's not what I said at all. Just don't act like overweight people are the only people with body image issues, self esteem problems, or the only people to ever be judged about their appearance. That's what irritates me.

I'm just saying that we already know about all the risks and health factors because we live our lives... I go to the Dr... he tells me that I am fat and I need to lose weight... I go to the store and random people make fun of my weight... I go to the gym... people make fun of me there... I feel like I can't even eat without being ridiculed... I have a mirror for heaven's sake! I know that I'm fat... I am trying to make my life healthier!

I just want to gather people around me that understand where I am coming from... find a support network... so that we can find happiness the way we are so that we can decide to live our lives however we feel we need to live them

I'm not healthy (I have health problems that have nothing to do with my fatty fat fat), but I'm certainly happy.

I can't speak for many overweight people; but for a long time in my life, I tried to get skinnier, not for me; but for everyone else because in society eyes; in order to be beautiful you have to be skinny; & that's really not the case, every size is beautiful; weather your big or small & for the first time in my life I am 100% happy about my body & I wouldn't change it for the world; & I'm not embarrassed anymore. I weigh 230 lbs & proud.
