Weaning

My son is almost 11 months old and im having surgery in two months and I need to wean my son from breastfeeding. Ive already started doing this a month ago and he already doesnt want to breastfeed! Its so sad. I wanted to drag it out and finish in a month or longer, but he really doesnt even want it. Im only feeding him like twice during the day and twice at night. The rest of the time he just wants a bottle.
Also I know they arent suppose to have formula after 1, so do you think it is too early to introduce whole milk at 11 months? Im not used to buying formula and it is soo expensive but im wondering if I should just maybe give him a bottle of whole milk a few times a week.. Any tips would help!

Start introducing it into the formula like one ounce of whole milk and the rest formula. That is what I did with both of my others and then gradually add more whole milk for a month and he will eventually be getting nothing but the whole milk in the bottle with no formula at all.

if he has never had formula there is no reason to introduce it now. You can slowly wean him by doing 1/2 and 1/2 and then less and less breast milk, so it's not a shock to his system. No need to buy formula then go to milk.. 11 months is close enough.
