My labor story!

Here is my home birth labor & delivery story!
Yesterday around 2:00pm, I was at work and I started having contractions. I figured it was BH, but to amuse myself, I clocked them. They were consistent at 10 minutes apart. So I stayed at work for another hour to finish up some work, said goodbye to everyone, and went home. I called my husband when I walked in the door and told him I was in labor. He was home in a flash and he looked so nervous. It was so cute. By 4:30 we were both starving so I decided to make us some food. I felt like I had to pee really bad and I felt some pressure and all of a sudden, a waterfall of amniotic fluid rushed out of me all over the kitchen floor, me, and Mikey's feet. It was so gross. Warm and wet and gross.
I guess I'm in the 15% of women who's water breaks like that. Mikey mopped it up since I was in shock and scared to death at the same time. He called the midwife while I went to change and she said for us to just relax and call back when my contractions were 5 minutes apart since they were only 7 minutes by this point. They were getting stronger and more uncomfortable so we laid on the couch and watched TV while he coached me through my contractions. He made my entire labor and delivery so much easier and more relaxed.
Around 9:30pm, they were 5 minutes apart and hurt so bad. Mikey called the midwife and doula and they were over within 20 minutes, calming me down and checking my progress. I was 6cm dialated and 100% effaced so they knew it would only be a few more hours. The doula and Mikey were so helpful with calming me down and guiding my breathing through the contractions. She showed him how to rub my back to make me feel better, and it sure did. Around 1:15am, I was finally 10cm and in so much pain with my contractions at about a minute apart, I just wanted to push. To help her crown, I was on my knees, holding onto Mikey while I breathed and slightly pushed, letting gravity do most of the work. That took about 15 minutes before she crowned.
I moved so I was on my back while Mikey and the doula held my legs back so I could push. Contrary to what people believe, pushing felt so good. It made the contractions feel a lot less painful. I pushed for 15 minutes and at 1:48am, Amalia Sophia was born! I was so happy and overwhelmed I cried when they put her on my stomach. She was so beautiful and so tiny! The midwife suctioned her and cleaned her off and Mikey cut the cord, setting our little one free! She's 7 lbs 1oz, and 20.6in long. She's got a head of dirty blonde hair and big blue eyes (for now). I birthed the placenta five minutes later while Mikey held her.
Everything was so perfect. I didn't tear or need to be cut which was amazing! I guess the perineal massage for three months really worked! I felt so disgusting and sweaty by this point so Mikey helped me shower while the midwife took Amalia's foot prints and checked to make sure everything was OK which thankfully, it was. Her and the doula were so amazing. They cleaned up everything while I was showering. They took the towels and sheets and put them in the washing machine for us and the living room looked back to normal again. When I was done cleaning myself, I was STARVING and heated up some left over pizza from the night before. The midwife and doula left so we could get some sleep and spend time with our new member.
They were incredibe people and told us to call them if we needed ANYTHING. I can't believe my little Amalia is finally here. After we got settled, we called his parents, brother, and my dad to let them know she decided to show up four days early! They were all so excited and are coming over tonight to meet her. I feel great right now. A little sore and tired, but I'm so happy I don't even care. Mikey and I have been taking turns feeding her and changing her diapers, he's such an attentive father. She's not even a day old yet and already she has daddy wrapped around her little finger. He loves holding her and letting her snooze on his chest, which she is currently doing right now.
Well there you go! I completely recommend a home birth to anyone and everyone! It's so much more relaxing since you're in your own enviornment and you don't have doctors and nurses walking in and out, annoying you and making you unable to relax.

Congratulations! I wish I could have a home birth, but they don't do them here. I know about the pushing part it feels like such a release of tension built up, an so good, no burning or anything! I am happy to hear you are both doing well!
