Work

posted 15th Jan '08
My son is now 3 months old. Money has been running really short for us lately. Luckily we live with my parents but still its not their job to support the child that me and my fiance brought into the world. I go to school once a week for 3 hours...pretty nice huh. Anyway to the point. I have a interview tomorrow and im pretty nervous because i plan on working days because working nights would be like fast food or back to the movie theatre. So i applied at a daycare centeri have plenty of experience with kids. But i have never left my son with anyone but my mom and my fiances mom...Im freaking here. I have to have a babysitter because they dont have a opening where i have the interview. Anyone else this nervous about leaving baby with a sitter or am i just nuts. He is a mamas boy to boot. I mean i havent had a need for a sitter because he goes to school with me and actually goes in my class with me. He usually sleeps though. Im just worried because i know we need the money but i havent worked since i was 10 weeks pregnant. and at my last job the ass. manager pushed me into a table...eh...i had the nervous feeling. What do youladies think?

I think that unfortunately, jobs are a nessicary evil - like you said, it's up to parents to support kiddos, not grandparents.

What part of Ks are you from?

I'll be getting a full time job after our baby is born. I'm HOPING that my boyfriend can just keep his part time job (he works between four and five days a week, so it's good for part time), and that we can switch shifts in taking care of the baby. I'd hate to have to put it in daycare while it was still really young. I'm very protective, so I don't think I can trust anyone other than myself, boyfriend, and our parents to watch the baby until it's a bit older.

If your parents would be willing to watch your baby that would be a great option. Daycare can cost a lt and make it hard to save up. If they don't want to its their choice becuase its not their baby.

i dont want him to be put in daycare but once there is a opening i will i want my son where i am everyone works during the day except my older brother but he is a alcoholic i dont want to leave my son with him anyway im hoping my friend gets in at my school i trust her with my son so if all goes well ill have a babysitter her son died when he was 2 months old to the day actually so she loves having my son when she gets a chance to. since day care posistions are during the day from morning to like 6 thats my best option because thats what i know i been taking care of kids since i was 9 my neighbors daughter doesnt trust anyone with her 6 kids but she does trust me. I just think i would do better working with kids.

hey i leave my son with my grandparents while i go to work, they are retired so its nice, i dont have to pay for childcare, but i do think that leaving my son with them teaches him a sense of independence and he's also not held constantly when he's there, which he seems to expect from me, so i think that if you get a sitter for your son, it would be good for him just make sure its someone that you check into and trust,. otherwise you'll be calin every 5 minutes. and if you do have to pay for childcare i know in wisconsin the county can help you pay for childcare. my friend pays less than $10 a wk for daycare and the county pays the rest. just go to human services... the same place you get help for medical insurance and foodstamps and stuff like that. hope it all works out for you and i kno the situation your in. i still live with my mom and even with my jobs its a struggle to get by.
