I realize there's a bottle-feeding forum but I wanted to take a poll. Which brand of formula do you use and why? If your baby is on a special type of formula, which kind would you choose if your baby had no problems with regular formula?

Megan's on enfamilgentlease. She had horrible gas as a baby and couldn't take the regular enfamil.

When Will was first born we used Similac Isomil Advance. We used that because that was the kind my mom (who has 6 kids and is kind of the "expert", lol) suggested we use when we had to start supplementing. Then WIC switched what kind of formula they gave out from Similac to Enfamil. So we switched him to the Enfamil Prosobee lipil but it gave Will heartburn. Although we had a doc's perscription for Isomil WIC told me that we'd have to go through every one of the Enfamil kinds before they'd give it to us   So we tried Enfamil Gentlease Lipil next and never had any problems with it!

He is on Similac Isomil (soy formula). Similac because that is what we get from WIC and the soy because the regular made him through up. If he wasn't lactose tolerant I would probably just use Regular Similac.

just wanted to throw this in here, sorry... but i have formula coupons and will send them out to people for free if u pm me the kind of formula you use. i have lots, and if i dont have what u need i will let u know if i get some   i also have samples

We use Similac because at the hospital the pediatrician said it was the only formula that he would recommend.

I always get coupons for Infamil Gentlease buy one get one free on the powder. Don't have any now because I throw them out. I believe they are only good at Coborns Grocery store. Pm if you want some.

That's horrible that they told you that you had to go through every kind. Isn't that not so good for babies?

I thought it wasn't either but there wasn't much I could do about it. We decided to try one more kind of the Enfamil and if that didn't work we were going to pay out of pocket for the Isomil, but luckily we didn't have to.

it's not so good if you switch it a lot, like they were trying to get her to do...but at least she found one she didn't have a problem with....Megan's done fine on gentlease too.

We are using the Parent's Choice Gentle formula from Wal-Mart. She seems to be doing really well today on this new formula. We were using Silmilac Advance before and it made her have Diarehhea really bad.

my son uses Similac Advance. That seems to be the only kind that satisfies him (and believe me we've tried almost everytime). We'd be going through about 2 cans of Good Start and Enfamil a week, but with Similac 1 can will get us past a week

Oh and have any of youactually tastedthe Gentlease? I feel bad giving it to him because it tastes horrible! Oh well, at least he's happy with it!

I thinks thats the same for all formula. Ive tasted (only for temp. testing purposes) almost all of them and they are all nasty. but its all they know at this point so they really dont have a basis for comparison
