It's been awhile (Aslo in S&L)

Just wanted to stop in and say Hi. I get on here often but never post anymore. I feel like there is not enough time in my day. My bf was extended in Iraq so I may not get to see him before I deploy. With recent events over there our deployment has been moved up almost 19 days. I leave in 2 1/2 weeks and I leave tomorrow for a week. We have also been told to expect a 9+ month deployment. I can't imagine being on the ship for that long but I'm sure I'll manage. Now I have to try to get my apartment packed up and moved out of by 31 January. I'm not too happy and it seems like I will never get it accomplished. Other than that, things are good. Getting sad as I see my ticker wind down to when I should have been having our baby but God has a plan, whatever it may be.

hey girl! everytime i start to wonder about you and your whereabouts you show up....that stinks that your deployment was moved up and your bf's was extended but i suppose that things happen for a reason. but i really hope that you are able to see him before you head out....yikes, i couldnt' imagine having to be on a ship that long but then again, the biggest "ship" i have ever been on was a friend's pontoon boat eons ago...either way, don't get too down about things - g-d has a plan and you are a definite part of it...sometimes it just takes a little bit longer than we would like to see what he has in store....you're in my thoughts...and don't be a stranger (though you are going to be a busy busy person in the next couple of weeks!)

oh hunny i'm sorry. are u navy? (i assume) i have a friend getting ready to go to iraq that's in the navy. he levaes feb 1st i believe. God has a plan and I'm sure it's for you to have beautiful hcildren when you get back. Stay safe and please update how you are doing when you go over (if u can). If you need anything I know us girls can get it together for ya. I feel the same about the ticker....*sighs*

Fortunatley, I never had to do a full deployment. I was on the ship for a year and did 89 days at sea total, but they were broken up into little workups.... I got off right before deployment and dry dock! How long have you been in?

13 1/2 long years. I've been onboard for 16 months. This is my first ship though. I was a CTA but now they merged us with YN. Ship life so far has been easy. Being an E6 really helps alot being onboard. If I was an E4 or below I couldn't do it. Those sailors work their butts off all the time.

yeah, thankfully I made E5 right before going on the ship! It was still hard though cause there was no one below me in rank in our shop and we didn't have any work to do.... So we cleaned the whole entire time!

Yup glad that is not me. I am tired of the now knowing my fate though. We were supposed to leave today and surprise, still here. They dont even know what they are going to do with us. I've most def had enough of sea duty. It's more frustrating for me because I didn't even have to be here. I volunteered to come 1 year into my last tour. I dont regret it at all because if I hadn't I wouldn't have met me bf so I am thankful for that. I am just so tired of the uncertainty.
