my daughter bites her bubby :(

posted 13th Jan '08
ok i have tried everything when it comes to trying to get my 2 year old to stop biting her 11 month old brother. i've tried time out, the corner, going to her room, no movies, and even gently popping her hand when she is actually chomping down on his leg, arm, back, whatever she can reach. i am not the type to spank or "bite back" but i broke down and just sorta softly bit her hand. she said" don't bite me, that hurts!" if she knows that biting hurts why does she do it??? its getting bad. she leaves bruises on him. it happens at least once a day. they could be playing and the sudden Aiden will start wailing. and Zoey, she'll say, "my teeth hurt, i bit bubby!" what in the world am i supposed to do? any suggestions?

by the way, yeah, Im back again. lol missed you all

never tried this my son is 15 months and has only bitten once but a lady from church (who has 4 kids) said a very small drop of vinegar in the childs mouth... sounds mean but she said her child only bit 4 times after that....

Hey it works, sometimes they just need to see that it is very painful and they stop

I'm sure tho that if i bit my daughter hard enough to hurt her i would cry harder than what she would... i cry when she cries, and if i hurt her and make her cry intentionally, I'd die... i don't know... i do know that it has to stop... maybe i will biting. but i will try the vinegar first...we will see how that goes...thanks ladies! any other advice will be helpful too!

My daughter (now 14) did it to her young sister, and i did everything in the book, but nothing so i told her if she did it again then i would bite her back everytime she did it to her sister, she did bite her so i bite her hard, and after that day she never did it again...i know it sound harsh by doing it back but it teaches them not to do it learn the hard way my mum says..
