Morning to everyone!

I wanted to give you an update on my besft friend Sarrah. She was finally induced yesterday morning. The docs started pitocin at 5am and finally broke her water at 2:30pm. I got to the hospital at around 3:20pm and her little boy had just been born and taken out of the room for evaluation. The omphalocele (part of the bowel was outside of his tummy) was really really small and they will be doing surgery today. Everything else is perfect, he was beautiful.

Now comes the scary part. After the baby was born her placenta wasn't coming out. I got to watch as the doctor tried to physically pull the placenta out of her uterus. After what appeared to be one of the most awful thing I have ever seen only part of the placenta detached. The docs did an US right there and determined that part of the placenta was stuck to the uterine wall. The docs told Sarrah that they would have to put her asleep, due to severe scoliosis she is not a good candidate for an epi, and do a D&C. The docs told her there was a very very small chance that they would have to do an hyserectomy to complete the evacuation. As they were taking Sarrah from her room she started bleeding really bad. Mind you Sarrah when not pregnant is 5'3 100lbs. They took her to the OR and tried to do the D&C but they could not get the placenta to detach nor could they stop the bleeding. A doc came in an told us that they had to do the hysterectomy or she was going to die. So at 29 years old my best friend had to have her uterus and cervix removed. Luckily they did not have to remove her ovaries and tubes, which means she isn't put into menopause, which is great! She will still get all the hormones, she just wont have a period anymore. She is still in the ICU and is pretty freaked out. Obviously she is glad to be alive as she has 4 children to look after.

Please keep her family in your prayers as the next couple weeks are going to be very hard on everyone.

Wow that is crazy... i could not even imagine... i would be freaked out too... im so glad that she is ok and the baby too... like you said at least she is still alive and her kids have a mommy... gave me chills reading this...but she will definately be in my prayers!!!

Also, my Mom is having surgery today to repair her stomach from her stomach cancer surgery in January. The stitches/scar didn't heal right and her stomach herniated. So the doc is trying to keep everything in her stomach. Keep her in your prayers too!

Sara: that is so sad! She will be in my prayers!

Dylan is doing good. He has pee'd in the house everynight since last friday. I don't get why the anitbotics aren't helping him more. He is peeing still and pooping, but he acts like he has a UTI. He has been eating more which is good. I have to call and update the vet tomorrow.

Aww thats so sad... im sorry you have so much going on right now... i would be so stressed!! Well hang in there and they will all be in my prayers!!

I totally agree!! Mine said that I was 7dpo (which is correct) but I gave the coverline and it pushed be back to 4dpo

Doing good. Just working as usual... Still waiting to start bleeding... I only have til tommorrow beofre i will have to go back to the dr to have them "fix" things if i dont... I never thought I would be praying and hoping to bleed...
