Bottles

I still have a while to go yet, but how old should a baby be when you try to take them off a bottle? A friend and I are having a difference in opinion. Thank you for any input.

I always heard that by a year they shouldn't be drinking from a bottle at all.

Most babies come off at about 1 year old. In the daycare I worked at, a child had to be off the bottle to transition from the infant room to the one year old classroom.

My babies all were rid of a bottle by 1 year old. I started at 10 months about trying to get rid of it.

My one niece is 3 and she was weaned at 10 months with no probs. My other niece will be 2 in April and still takes a bottle. She freaks out at bedtime without it.
I am going to try and have Kaden off of it by a year.

Thank you! What are some of the ways you suggest to wean them off?

My sis and I were talking about this the other night. She didn't give Ashley a choice when it was finally time. She did start introducing the cup at around 9 months I think is what she said. Ash was always really intrested in a cup more than a bottle though so she was easy. She didn't even cry 1 time for it.
