Dialation

Well, I have been checked for dialation twiceand the doctors both said the same thing: they couldn't find my cervix. They keep telling me that my cervix is extremely high, so I couldn't possibly have dialated yet. Any body else having this feedback from their doctor as well?

I had a high cervix and ended up getting induced at 41 weeks. i was only a fingertip dialated. At the hospital when they said they couldnt find it i asked them if it fell out..lol..ya im silly. Hey my first pregnancy what do i know? lol.i think it was just pregnacny nerves that made me say it.

yes i had asimiliar response from my doc as well. but they just have to "dig deeper" sry for the way i put that but i dont know how else to say it.

the farther along you get the easier it might be for them to find it since the baby will be weighing everything down.

lol thanks. The nurses laughed with me and said no it cant fall out..haha. im so strange sometimes.

Thank you so much ladies. It's so good to know that i'm not the only one with a high cervix. I have another question as well: how soon before you actually went into labor did any of you ladies actually begin feeling contractions? I am due in one week six days, and I haven't even felt the first contraction.

You should count your lucky stars then!!!!!! Im due in 14 days and have been having them for over a month! Really you probly are having them but bh are SUPPOSED to be painless! So just see if you feel a tightening sensation across your belly... That is them! It's really nothing to worry about. With my first I had no contractions and went in for an appt. and was dialated past three so they induced and with my second I didn't have a contraction till labor began! Then it was a doozie! Wow! That was the only time I've ever KNOWN that I was in labor from the first contraction! All the other ones I walk around going Hmmmm this could be it! I've learned to say nothing to anyone else about it or everyone gets in a panic and its just false labor ;o(
