I didn't know if it would be anything that would interest anyone on here. My son (Anthony, he's in the video) was born with gastroschisis last year and there is a challenge going on now that is all about the number of people you can inspire to donate, not about the amount of money donated. The top 8 winners will recieve a $50K grant to research and hopefully help prevent other families from having to go through this. The video is aboutfive babies with gastroschisis who survived and one who didn't make it, so be warned that that will be included, I don't want anyone to become upset or offended. Gastroschisis is when the abdomen wall doesn't close properly and the intestines are on the outside of the body when they are born. There are no graphic pictures of that, but I find it heart wrenching still, perhaps because I have been through it. Anyways, I would really appreciate it if you or anyone you know might be interested in donating. Thanks. The video is and the donation link is http://www.networkforgood.org/pca/Badge.aspx?BadgeId=108725
Again I just want to stress it's not about the AMOUNT, but the number of donations that will win the research grant. And it ends Jan 31st. We are currently in 10th place. Thanks again for reading.

That is truely very sad... I hope you are able to win the challenge and you and your family have few if any complications... Do they know why babies are born with these conditions?
Wow... that brought back some sad memories my little cousin had that i remember holding him in the hospital with his intestines outsideof his body ..:-( now hes a healthy 1yr and a half big smart boy ! :-) I wish i could donate but i cant sadly since well I'm broke half the time ! but i do donate to the ronald mcdonald fund every chance i get considering they are the people who helped my baby cousin grow big and strong !
*!*Brittany*!* -No, they have no idea.. it's more common in younger moms (under 25) and with first pregnancies, but not always.. that's about all the infomation there is so far.. that's why the research would be so important.. especially if there's some simple explanation to prevent it...
1stpregnancy- Your nephew is about the same age as my son- it's funny how even with everything they've gone through it doesn't slow them down.. my son is an absolute terror and I love it.. Do you think you would be able to send the link to some people in your family to see if it would be anything they would be interested in doing? They could put your nephew down as who they are donating for.
Thanks for reading and responding.. it really means a lot to me that people care
