8 month old drinking water

How much water does your 8 month old drink?
My doctor told me 2oz 2x/day should be fine... but it seems my son wants water all the time... the other day he drank 7 oz... today I limited it to about 5... I am not sure if he should be having that much or if I should limit to 4oz... And his BM have been hard lately so I guess he may need some extra water for that... Any ideas? Thanks!

Mine sipped here and there at 8 months, so probably 4oz a day? If he seems constipated I'd say that that much water would be fine, he might be a bit dehydrated. And, he might just realllly like water lol

Juice for constipation. Water has empty calories and at this age so I wouldn't give him water since he probably could use all the calories he can get right now.

My LO wont touch water lol. So she gets 6ish ounces of watered down apple juice every few days.
Don't give him too much, it sounds like he is getting a bit too much right now. Try and limit it to your doctors suggestion. About 4 ounces a day, if that.

Ours didn't start drinking water until one years old, and just a few sips now and then. Mostly use it to get rid of hiccups lol. Formula and breastmilk both have plenty of hydration for little ones.
