Posting the same message in more than one forum

*Public Service Announcement*

This post is being made in an attempt to bring attention to the problem of making the same post in more than one area of the forum.

This is called "cross posting", and will get you banned on most forums.

Baby Gaga is a very laid back forum, without the rigid rules and constraints that exist on most forums, which is why we love it so much. However, just because said rules don't exist, it doesn't mean we should throw proper etiquette to the wind and go crazy.

Information does not float about free on the internet. Every little bit of information is stored on a computer, somewhere. Every post that you make is stored on the server that hosts baby gaga. When you make the same post in more than one area, you're needlessly clogging up the server. I sometimes see people bitching about the times when gaga gets slow (by slow I mean slow loading times, not lack of posts); making redundant posts doesn't help that situation any (not to mention since this website is provided free, no one should really be bitching anyway).

So, if you enjoy this forum, please stop adding to the congestion by making redundant posts; one post is more than enough, people will find it.

im sorry i realized i did this and didnt notice it till now i thought my first pot didnt go through so i tried to repost it again because my computer was messin up and i didnt even mean to post it in teen pregnancy i meant to post it in suffering and loss....ive never done that before!!! but yaaa sorry

people do this all the time and i've never known any to get banned... it's also not mentioned in mara's posts about getting banned from BG

I like checking the new posts on the right hand margin - I HATE when they are all the same fricken thing!
The parentank feature can help you keep in touch with your buddies if thats your goal by cross posting!

If you wnat your post seen by the most people, then jsut post it in the forum that people frequent most!! I.E. FFA. that's what it's there for. FREE FOR ALL. As in, post anything.

I feel it is alot easier to ignore it that try to stop it...when you think about pretty much everything has already been said before by at least 1 person. Obviously not everything, but if nobody repeated anything then nothing would ever be posted lol...

Unless you are talking about, say for instance...5 posts all about starting solids within the same day and same forum. then yeah that is pretty retarded and people should look. I just tend to give people the benefit of the doubt and assume they didn't see the previous posts.

As God said... it isn't a "rule" for Baby Gaga because Baby Gaga is more laid back. However, it is a rule for most forums.

The point is not to scare people into getting banned, but to let them know that if they're tired of slow downloading times that double (cross)posting simply doesn't help and will only make it worse.

God wasn't referring to different people having the same post or same type of post... She was referring to one person, posting the same topic in 1 or more sections/areas of Baby Gaga.
