only if you are self righteous enough about it to tell a woman who is ttc that her misfortune is a result of karmic repercussions for past abortions. otherwise, i don't care what you believe. as long as you don't interfere with anyone's rights to a legal (currently) and safe medical procedure.

i see what you are trying to parallel but, it doesn't really work. i am not questioning her rights or trying to hinder them. i can tell i've really pissed you off but, the issue isn't free speech rights, it's way simpler than that. i think it's a really rude, baseless comment. what do you think?

Her comment really didn't bother me that much, I think that it was unnecessary to the conversation, but for everything anybody ever says there is going to be somebody that opposes it.

I had a 2nd trimester miscarriage in Oct 2007, therefore I had to get a D&C done. My boyfriend and I areTTC but we aren't having any luck. I've heard different things. Two weeks after the D&C I had a backup appointment, they said everything was fine. No clots or anything like that and we could start trying when we were ready. They said it would not affect my fertility and I would still be able to have children in the future. It'salmostbeen 5 months now since we started trying again, and still no luck. I took a home ovulation test last month and I didn't ovulate the weekI was supposed to. I'm starting to get scared but I don't know what to do. Just "going with the flow"

That is not true. I have asked my doc about this and they say abortion has nothing to do with miscarraige... you could have the same thing that I have which is a blood clotting disorder and causes you to lose the baby. My doc put me on a baby asprin a day, folic acid, vit b6 and b12 and prenatal and I am now 31 weeks... and prior to this I had two misscarriages that followed an abortion. Also you should of told someone about the abortion, unless you are not having trouble dealing with it... that away you had someone to talk to about it when you were feeling down on your self.

Yeah. I asked my doctor too and she said the same thing. I know a girl who has had two abortions an is now expecting a baby boy.

When you have an abortion, they do pretty much the same thing as when you have a D&C or D&E after a miscarriage. Meaning, your cervix is dilated and the uterine contents are taken out. Having a D&C or D&E doesnt make you any more infertle than any other woman. Fertility issues are often caused by other issues and not a surgical procudure. There are millions of women who have abortions (D&C, D&E) and go on to have healthy pregnancies.

I chose to have an abortion this past Augustdue to medical reasons with my son. I dont feel the need to explain myself nor do I have to. Just know that his life on earth would have been very short lived IF he made it full term. So we allowed him to become an angel early. Maternal Fetal medicine told me that we will more than likely have no problems conceiving again, but we are NOT allowed to try for a full year so that my body can heal. IF your body is not ready when you TTC then perhaps your chances of a loss are elevated, BUT it is not because you had an abortion. Your uterus needs to have a good lining for proper implantation.
