You could register for baby towels, wipes, diapers, baby lotion, clothes, blankets, baby hair brush, first aid kit, and anything else that you need for an infant that you might not still have.

I think you should have a baby shower... It always is nice to have a get together and its great to get things you could use/need as gifts... Or at least I think so.

Stuff you would use up like wipes and diapers...replace older equipement like a swing that still uses batteries for one that plugs into the wall or a boppy that might be falling apart. Register for some of the "luxuries" you never had for your sons such as a wipe warmer. New bathtub? If it's a girl this time, get lots of girly stuff including new bedding.

I only had a shower when I was pregnant with my son, and will have another one with this baby, as it's daddy's first, but I gave the things I didn't want/need for my kids to a local church. Because there are girls out there who don't get a baby shower and don't have the things they need!

I'd register for the essentials ie. Bath products, lotions, powders, diapers, clothing, blankets and stuff like that

Can't get enough diapers, wipes and clothes. Also, in the event that you are having a girl , register for all that cute girly nursery stuff. Sure, use the boys furniture and swings, ect. But enjoy the pink blankets and little girl decorations. I have three beautiful girls and that means a whole bunch of girl hand-me-downs. But if this one is aboy I'm looking forward to some great boy decor =)
Congrats and best wishes!

Also, you can put gift cards on most places that you can register at. I did that when I first did my baby registry at BRU cause we didn't know if we were having a girl or boy at the time I did the registry. My fam and hubs fam were telling to register early so I gave in and had it mostly done by the time I was 4 months along.

Also what is really nice about most registries is you can do them online now. So its super easy to change anything .... like if you picked girlie stuff and you get another boy or you get something and someone didn't take it off your registry.

yeah, i have 3 boys and we're sooo hoping for a girl, and the luxury thingss would be nice, but i don't really use much. . .and i'm such a tight-wade that i don't even feel right asking for the thingss that i dont NEED or wouldn't even buy myself [i.e. swing, boppy pillow] and all my other stuff is still in good shape. . .so all i really seriously would need is girl clothes [which i'm VERY picky about] and diapers/wipes. . .and how fun is that?!?! and i don't have a nrsery or anything, i;m planning on the baby bunking with me for the first year, .like her bro's did. . .

Oh and also if you "over register" what ever you don't get from it, most places will send you (esp. Target and BRU) a coupon for a percentage off your registry item purchases after the due date that you put on the registry. Also you should put the "luxery" items on there.... If you have those on there you may have friends or family that would want to go-in together to get them for you. and if you get the gift cards you can put them together and use them to get the pricier items. (and if you do them with the coupon, its like finding lost or forgotten money!)
Just a little FYI....

Congrats and Good Luck!

Between my sister and my SIL we'll have plenty of hand-me-downs, but if I had to have a baby shower I'd give guests the option to make a contribution to the baby's future....ie. Cash to put into education savings plans.

My side of the family has never been big on parties and lavish, and/or unnecessary gifts so I think the practicality of a savings plan (especially if the gov't matches money and it earns interest tax free until it's withdrawn) would be very appealing to them. And it's something I'll need...eventually.

That's what my parents are doing for our baby - they'll be setting up an RESP for him. So.....lots of reminders from them to get that SIN # ASAP!
