Quoting pooskie:“ IDK about the blood, but Jonas gets mucousy diapers when he is congested. As far as dairy goes, IDK ... [snip!] ... for me. ETA - would it be over-supply at 9 wks? shouldnt your supply be pretty regulated by now? I would think....but im no dr”
Quoting Lisa&Sully:“ Hi All, Just wondering, how do I tell if my little man is getting ready to wean from BFing or if he's ... [snip!] ... at the breast? Or is he losing interest? If anyone's willing to share their experience, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!”
Quoting MommaMary ~GS~:“ Those of you that have your babies on a fairly regular schedule, when did you start trying to establish ... [snip!] ... weeks old and technically I am supposed to go back to work next week, but I am taking a few weeks unpaid... So yeah, how early?”
Quoting Beth Ann {{BBC}}:“ I got a lot of crap from girls on BG for doing this but at 6wks we started seting a night time schedule. ... [snip!] ... night time, he set everything and, I guess, technically he set bedtime too kind of in a way. LOL sorry for rambling. Good luck!”
Quoting Choking-the-Breeze:“ Ok girlies I need some words of wisdom My 9 week old daughter is exclusively breast fed . I have breastfed ... [snip!] ... ... and I suppose thats what it could be , but why didn't it bother her until 6 days ago ? What can I do to correct this ?”We had a few diapers with specks of blood back when Sullivan was around 7 and 12 weeks old -- I went off dairy just to be sure that wasn't it, and when I went back on it, the blood never recurred. My GP thinks it was small fissures that may have been aggravated when he was straining to poo -- apparently at that age, they strain whether they're constipated or not because they're still learning how to go and as soon as they get the urge, they push hard. I did oodles of reading about poo at that point too, and everything I read about oversupply mentioned green "frothy" stools, so I'm not sure why they'd be mucousy.... is there anything different you've been eating lately that may be irritating her a bit causing the mucous and blood?
Quoting Lilly and Linkin's Mommy:“ so when you start solids, does their milk intake decrease? i havent yet btw so dont jump on me! lol...”No, it shouldn't, at least in the beginning. Solids should never replace milk, just complement it. You should always offer a baby to drink milk first, and then offer solids to be sure they are getting enough milk before they fill up with solids.
Quoting faeva_fly:“ My son is great, I love him but he goes through phases.... Today I could not eat shower do- ANYTHING ... [snip!] ... somedays he acts like I am starving him- I have a really good milk supply so it's not that he's not getting enough...”How old is he? It sounds like a growth spurt.
Quoting mamacj:“ How old is he? It sounds like a growth spurt.”
Quoting KristyRose:“ Do any of you ladies send milk to daycare? If so, do you send it fresh or frozen, and how much extra ... [snip!] ... as conservative with my liquid gold as I am. Any advice/suggestions or things you've worked out with your daycare providers?”I send fresh, refridgerated milk because it stays good longer at room temp. I also keep a bag of frozen milk there just in case! I send 4-5 6 oz bottles a day. There is usually one left, or he'll have just finished the last one right before I pick him up.
Quoting faeva_fly:“ He's 5 weeks...How long should I be expecting this growth spurt to last???”
Quoting mamacj:“ I send fresh, refridgerated milk because it stays good longer at room temp. I also keep a bag of frozen ... [snip!] ... I send 4-5 6 oz bottles a day. There is usually one left, or he'll have just finished the last one right before I pick him up.”
Quoting KristyRose:“ I've never seen anything about refrigerated/frozen milk and how long it can sit at room temp...only freshly expressed. How long is each good for?”Fresh and refridgerated milk is good for up to 10 hours at room temp. I personally never go past 8 hours though. Frozen milk is only good for an hour at room temp. after it's thawed. Frozen milk is also only good in the fridge for 24 hours, whereas fresh milk (never frozen) is food for 7 days in the fridge.
