Could be.. but he will eat when he's hungry... Remember some babies sleep through the night at this age and go without 12 hours.

It's so nerve racking when they don't want it.. but trust me if he's hungry he will eat... He's not going to starve himself out of no where... Ya know?

Hello All!!!
Just a few questions:
1. My baby likes to be on the boob ALL NIGHT LONG, DO this happens to any of you? How do you manage to rest?
2. How many times do you pump a day after baby has been eating solids? I ussually do 2 times/day but it's very difficult.
3. My little girl HATES the carseat. I have tried special toys, songs, different carseat, loose straps, etc.. but she screams bloody murder all the time. Any ideas???
BTW My baby is 8 months and has always been breastfeeding(no formula) she started solids @ 6 months and I work Full time.
Will be watching...

i can only answer # 3 about the carseat. jonas HATES his as well, and it makes it pretty much impossible for me to go anywhere alone. i do most of my errands at night when hubby gets home. he drives, i sit in back with jonas and try to entertain him, hold his hands, etc.but when its just him and i, he screams to the point of coughing and choking. i totally feel your pain. it sucks.

1. lylian does the same thing. i usually end up getting overly tired and havign a nervous breakdown until my bf lets me sleep in. or i just try to get the best sleep i can in awkward positions. do you cosleep? if you dont it might help you rest, if you do, maybe try transitioning her to her own bed.

2. i dont pump when lylian has solids. my breasts are so efficient that they can make milk on demand(thye only respond to the pump if its been like 8 hours away from her). plus we are trying to transition her to solids during the day(evn though she still mostly has breastmilk)and breasts at night. so i am kind of letting my boobs transition with her as well.

3. as for the carseat issue, theres really not much you can do if toys dont work. maybe try putting a mirror in front of her so she can see you? i know theyre not portrayed as the safest thing, but it might help if you dont mind doing it. or maybe put a blanket on the back of the seat that she might like to stare at that coudl keep her occupied. usually lylian does well in the car when she has her toys. we have a mirror up so when i stop at stop lights i look back at her and she can see me. she likes that, but i know a lot of people are against it. if you arent taking many long trips then i dont think it should be a huge deal if she cries for a short car ride. good luck(btw my babe is 8 months also  )

Thanks,
1. Icosleep ussually after 1:30 AM. I'm trying to keep her most of the time at her crib (that is in my room) but she just cries when I put her down after that hour. I'm not into CIO so I just pick her up again and put her on my bed. The problem is that my legs are killing me because of the awckward positions....
2. On the pump issue is just that I'm thinking about only pumping once at work.
3. CARSEAT   she cries even with me seating besides her and short trips. The only time she does not cries is early in the morning when driving to my workplace....

I have a question, since formula (even refrigerated) has a one hour time limit, does the same go for pumped breast milk?

I am to go back out to work on monday and am really not looking foward to having to pump at work
How did u working moms make out pumping when u first went back out? Did yall actually have a room to pump in or had to do it in the bathroom?
How many times during the work day did u have to pump?
And did pumping at work decrease your milk supply??

How did u working moms make out pumping when u first went back out? When I first went back to work, all was well with my pump and me. B/c I had so much milk from solelyBFing my sonall day.
Did yall actually have a room to pump in or had to do it in the bathroom? I pumped in the conference room and locked the door. If you can do it somewhere other than the bathroom please do. It is hard to get comfortable in the bathroom and that will make pumping take all the longer. Sometimes I would go sit by our pond behind my business and eat lunch and pump.
How many times during the work day did u have to pump? And did pumping at work decrease your supply?
At first I was pumping 2 times a day. I fed my son right before I left (around 7:45). Then I would pump around 11. Then I would pump again between 2-3. And then feed my son immediately when I got home. Then things got busy around here so at around 4 months I started pumping only once at work. Then I stopped pumping all together. The pump I had wasn't a good one and it started taking 45 minutes to pump 2-3 ounces. So I just said to hell with it and started pumping at home when I fed my baby. He would eat from one breast and I'd pump the other. Ultimately I had to start supplementing while at work. It went from one BM bottle and one formula bottle to two formula bottles. But i'm ok with that. He got only BM for the first 5 months of his life. He is 11 months now and we are still BFing with the 2 bottles of formula a day.

If you do have to supplement, don't beat yourself up. Typically most working women end up having to supplement while they are away and BFing when they are home. It really works for us and I'm much happier without stressing out over pumping all the time.

Here is a link on kellymom.com about combination feeding:
http://www.kellymom.com/bf/weaning/weaning-partial.html

Some moms are able to pump and offer BM exclusively, so if you can do that then please do!!! But if you can't please don't beat yourself up about it.

Good luck!

At what age did your children start to space out their feedings? My son will be 5 months Sun. and still eats every 2 hours during the day.
