Oh my god, you are a genius. My son has been sooo fussy the past couple of weeks and I have just not been able to figure it out. Now that you mention otter pops...I bought some a couple weeks ago and have been having at least 2 a day. I never even thought of those as a possible culprit. Good bye yummy otter pops, I will miss you, lol.

kellymom.com says 8 days and the chart I got with my pump says 7 days. The bottles take up so much room though, so I usually only have enough in the fridge for 2-3 full days.

Yes I hate the stupid trial and error bull too. Ive been wondering if it was milk as well. Lately Kadences poop seems to be a little bit runny. Ive been having to check her diaper every 10 mins to keep it as dry as possible because the stupid pampers diapers gave her a rash and rash+runny poop is not a good combo!!

Hi BFing Mama's! It's been a while since I've been on this thread.

But, things for me are going perfectly. I was worried in the begining that Addie didn't like to nurse but now at 8 months she is obsessed-- how is everyone's older babies...do they seem to love the nurse as much if not more than when they were newborns?

I was eating 3-4 a day! I was obsessed and it was the only thing I ate constantly so I had to try it out and bam! tummy aches were gone and poop was back to regular color and consistancy! I'm glad I could help you. lol

My daughters poop is always runny with what appears to look like little seeds (but are mushy not hard). I'm constantly changing her atleast 8-10 times a day which I actually prefer because atleast I know she is eating enough.

Except for the past few days, she's pooped one or twice a day. She has lots of wet diapers though and it hasn't been bothering her. Although today she hasn't been in the greatest of moods I think it was the pizza though. She has a doctor's appointment tomorrow so I will be asking when I can give her a little juice to help her go.

I have another question though.
I just got a pump so I've started to pump for those just in case times and I pumped 3 ounces from one breast and 2 from the other (I wanted there to be some left in my breast just in case she woke up within the hour) and ever since then my boobs have not been engorged. Which I am happy about but now I seem or more so FEEL as though I'm not producing enough milk. I only pumped once that friday. Then yesterday I tried pumping and only got 2 ounces out of the first breast and one out of the other breast. So I thought I would pump once a day. But now I'm worried.

She seems content with her feedings, but should I pump every two hours to help my milk get a little boost? I tried pumping today again, 2 ounces out of the first breast and less than 1 out of the other. Now my boobs are constantly soft so I'm worried she isn't eating enough.

What should I do?

the not so often pooping is normal. as she gets older the pooping becomes less frequent. jonas is almost 4 months and he has maybe 2-3 poopy diapers a day, instead of poop every 2 hours. ha. breasfted babies RARELY become constipated, and because so much of what they take in is used by their bodies, they dont NEED to poop as often. sometimes there will only be a few BM's a week, and its totally normal in a breastfed baby.
how old is your daughter? the softening of your boobs happens after your body figures out how much milk baby wants. there is still milk, but it doesnt build up like it does when they are very young.
your breasts know how much food your baby is demanding. as long as the wet diapers keep coming, she is probably doing great.
i freaked out when my boobs went all soft, and was afraid my supply had vanished. i can go 4-5 hours without nursing and they stay relatively soft, but the letdown is usually immediate.

I posted this already but I thought maybe since this is breastfeeding mom's someone might have an answer.

My son is 3 months old and lately I have been really worried about getting pregnant again I am taking the mini-pill and breastfeeding. I was wondering if anyone had gotten pregnant while on the mini pill and if there were other circumstances that led to this (ie forgetting a pill or breastfeeding less)

Sorry not trying to be annoying just a little paranoid!

Yea I've noticed my daughter definitely doesnt poop as much again.. she does about 2-3 times a week now instead of a day. But she always has wet diapers.

Another thing is that she still hasnt got the hang of the sucking boob properly. She's 2 mths now and hurts me when she first starts nursing, as if she clamps down on the nipple.. Most times it takes me a few times of putting it in her mouth to get the nip and some areola in..what am i doing wrong??

She also sucks her tongue regularly now, once the paci or the boob isnt in her mouth

Hey there I am new to forum and loving it anyways I have 8 month old too and we call her a "boob-aholic" I'm worried about weening her (when that time comes-not now) I anticipate trouble! we had problems in the begining too but you couldn't tell it now! ! !

Hey! I have been on the mini-pill for 10 months now. As long as you take it within an hour every day you are fine. Mini-Pills are 87-99.7% effective, only slightly less than normal BC pills.

I supplement and my son only breastfeeds about 3 times a day now, he's going on 11 months.

If you are really worried, you could chart your days of ovulation and use back-up during those days.

My son loved the boob around that age, but the more mobile he gets the less interested in it he is. I mean don't get me wrong he still loves to BF, but it just isn't the same.

When are you planning on weaning? Or are you going to let her self-wean?

I've always heard bf babies have runny poo, we certanly have (until she got on some solids) If your child is growing he/she might be drinking more and more so even though you think your not making enough he/she (sorry can't remember if boy or girl) is actually just consuming more, besides after a while the engorgement stops and your body figures out how much exsactly to put out, (then you hit a growth spurt)but if you want to make an abundance to store then yeah Pump away  I do and there has been several times where I've had to feed her again after I just pumped apparently she can get out what a pump can't (and I have a $250 electric) so apparently within mins you make more.  Besides I always figured if she was still hungry I would give her what I pumped!
