After Baby Sex

posted 28th Dec '07
I had my baby 13 days ago and I know most women want nothing to do with sex for awhile after they have the baby, but I am in the complete opposite boat! I want sex, I want it all the time, and I want it NOW! I don't want to wait until my check up to have sex. I am going crazy....its just not fair! Anyone else this way or am I crazy??

i was the same way and had sex 4wks pp i had a second degree tear but everything felt fine  i think it jusrt depends on the person i mean every pregnancy aND every labor is different why would pp healing be ANy different ya know i think it just depends on your own healing process.

This is not to rag on anyone..but there really is a good reason that your doctors tell you to wait 6 weeks. Not only do you need stitches to heal but at the insertion site of the placenta onto your uterus a scab forms. The scab falls off 2 weeks PP....BUT if you happen to have sex before that insertion site is completely healed up you have a risk of forming an air embolism. This can happen from an air bubble being pushed up during sex and this can actually kill you. It's happened to a 16 year old that delivered at our hospital.

you could do it at four weeks and even two weeks. But keep in mind the risk.
