Breastfeeding Question

I hope this isn't a stupid question....but, my husband bought me sessions to a tanning bed for Christmas. However, I am breastfeeding my 6 week old little girl. My question is can you go to the tanning bed while you are breastfeeding?

I cant see how it would hurt....your babies out...maybe ask your doc to be safe-but Im sure it will be fine...

It is fine, just make sure to cover your nipples so they don't get dried out.

ditto. try some lanolin onthe nipples right before you go in, it might help protect them  

Do the tanning salons in your area sell Wink-ease? The oval shaped stickers that you fold into a cone and use to protect your eyes from the UV? If so, they also work well for nipples!   Breast pads would also do the trick (if you are going to be laying down in a bed). I wouldnt trust the Lanolin as I dont think it has any UV-protection in it. You might as well protect them from the rays (which will dry the skin) not just moisturize them (which actually allows them to tan better!).

Tanning wont effect your milk supply or anything. If I had the money I would be tanning too! Enjoy it!
