My Son has a Nasty Cough,,

I have an 18month old, we have been doing the Vicks Chest rub and running a Vicks Vaporizer at night, what do you all do for your LO's cough. I have been doing Benedryl, but not really getting any relief from the cough, and I have tried Similisan's Kid Cough and Mucus Relief. It said it was safe for ages 2+.

Benadryl is an antihistamine. It's not going to have an affect on the cough. Does he have a productive cough, or a dry cough?

Benedryl won't help a cough

All you can do is the vicks really, I do like that Similsan's cough stuff- I use it for my daughter. Go into the bathroom and turn on the shower on full force, put it all the way to hot. Aim the shower head at the wall and sit in the bathroom for about 15 minutes with your LO. The steam will help a lot.

Its just a nasty cough, he sounds congested when you listen to him breath, until he coughs. He has had this cold all week. With the Runny nose and cough. No Fever. I feel bad, cause it sounds so bad. He is acting like himself, he's not whiny or clingy. Just a cough.

I will try that shower thing and see how well that works. We have the Johnsons Vapor Bath stuff too. So I will give him a bath again with that and try shower thing too.
