I feel sooo blessed!

I never got to see the sweet side of my dad until now. When I told him I was pregnant he got so mushy. He is so happy that he's going to be a gramdparent. I have never seen this side of my dad. Today he brought over a beautiful bassinet and all these cute baby clothes. He told me he wants to pay for the blood cord and whatever else I need he's got it. My dad was diagnosed with these cists thatarecancerous, he 's being treated. Now he's so happy about the baby it keeps his mind off it a little.I knowmy baby going to keep his spirits up. Now soon I get to see him with my baby and i'm so excited. He told me I made him wait to long with tears in his eyes. I have a wonderfulhusband and soon I'll meet my son. My whole family is thrilled and I know babies bring people closer together. I just can't wait for my little blessing. Anyone else witha family member with an illness during yore pregnancy?

My cousin Mike is in the Army and was hit by a roadside bomb while on patrol. That was 4 months ago and he is still in a coma and the doctors dont know if he will ever wake up. Everyone in my family has been looking at the baby as a blessing to help them through it. Then about 3 months ago my 15 month old cousin was diagnosed with several blastomas. and she is under going chemo as we speak. She is so cute she will come up to me and kiss my tummy and say thats my bebe in there and she will sit and talk to the baby like she is here. so i really do think babies help out some times

I def agree with you babies have such a power to bring people closer together and to lift sprits where you never thought they could. My grandfather is old and has already lost his wife and daughter (my mother) and him knowing that IM pregnant has given him a sense of hope and I think im giving him the best gift I could ever give. I feel like now he feels like he has more meaning to life which warms my hear to the fullest

My mom has had kidney stone problems for the majority of my pregnancy and I've taken care of her more than she has me. She said she was going to throw me a baby shower but asked my boyfriend's mother to do it instead because of her stones. She's been battling with depression too and uses every excuse to not go to work so she depends completely on my dad for money for the bills...
I was really hoping that it would get her excited and make her want to spend time with me but she spends most of her time on the computer because (she says) she loves graphic design. So she doesn't clean her house either..
I'm hoping it'll lift her spirits once she holds him....
I'm so glad to read you guys' babies brighten up lives like that. I hope that happens for me..
