sick baby

My little boy has been very congested in his nose and chest for a few days now. I took him to the doctor thursday and they said that it was nothing but if it got worse bring him in. this morning we woke up and he was running 102.5 fever. I rushed him to the E.R. being a sunday.. They did several tests and they gave him a breathing treatment but all tests came back fine. But the doctor said even though the RSV tests came back okay, that he still might have it.. It breaks my heart to see him like this. The doctors didn't give him any medicine at all. I know the doctors know more than I do because they are trained in that field but still, it's scary. I just pray it only gets better from here.. Please if you guys, pray than pray for him. He needs it. He is almost 5 months old. Any feedback would be great!

My son is has a cold...my best advice is get some baby vicks rub a lil on his back it might break some of the congestion get a cool mist humidifyer and put it near his bed in his room and run it at night and during naps. also they are saline drops for his nose to help clear him out or even get that nice lil sucker thing they used in the hospital he will probably scream bloody murder when you do it but it seems to help my son...and of corse infant tylenol for the fever. it drives me nuts when my son is a lil sick so i could only imagine what you are going through. good luck and i hope i helped

If he has a stuffy nose, like mandy suggested, you can get saline drops. I personally recommend Little Noses Saline drops... It's like 5 or 6 dollars, and comes with the best nasal aspirator ever! Okay, I'm probably exaggerating.. but I love it. It's soft pliable rubber and doesn't hurt my son's nose at all. It's easy to clean and work with. The drops are nonmedicated and you can use them as often as he is stuffy. They not only moisten the nostrils, but loosen any snot so that he can either sneeze it out or you can use the aspirator. Good luck!
