dreading xmas with family

Ok, I know I posted something like this already......but my "father" called me this morning to see...and I will qoute " to see what my fat ass was doing". I'm really upset bc this is the 5th time he has called me fat.He made me cry for thanksgiving and I know xmas will be the same situation. I've gained 30lbs sofar and my doctor says Im fine. I weighed about 120 prepreg and Im5'9" tall. I already have a problem with my weight gain...it really bothers me and his rude comments dont help. I swear I want to stay home alone this xmas. My hubby is offshore working, so Im already sad bc I miss him. As of now, I think me and my son are going to stay home and not spend xmas with the family bc if he says one more thing, Im going to break his nose!!!

I think your belly looks perfect and 32lbs isnt too much. I dont think Im fat but he really make me feel bad about myself.

I've gained mostly in my stomach...and I was underweight pre pregnancy.

My friends call me fat sometimes and it just drives me nuts because I'm not fat, I'm pregnant.
So I give people lip when they call me fat.

to this day my grandfather still calls me fat I have learned to ignore it even though it still hurts. I personally dread holidays with the family. It always seems to end up in drama, yelling and screaming I don't think I can take it. So last year dh and I stayed home and I cooked and we had friends over and we are doing the same thing this year. Best wishes for a happy holiday!

i can somewhat relate to you my dad called me and my friend door knobs bcaz we got pregnant and decided to keep out kids just ignor him... ur not fat and 30 lbs isnt much trust me...

You are not a doorknob you are just accepting responsibilty for your actions. I applaud you for doing so.

It's hard to ignore when someone calls you names or makes fun of something that you're already sensitive about. If it makes you uncomfortable then you shouldn't have to deal with it. If you feel comfortable, you should say something to him, like that it really bothers you and you wish he wouldn't say things like this. If this isn't an option...is there somewhere else you can go for Christmas? What about your husband's family? Or maybe a friend who would welcome you to their home on Christmas Day? Don't be afraid to ask someone else if you can join them...it's what the season is all about.

And if it makes you feel better...I'm 5'3" and went from 185 to 225...yep 40 lbs....I look like a weeble-wobble! Thank goodness the last time I went to the Dr I FINALLY stopped gaining!

What is it with Dads and calling his daughters fat? Mine is always pointing out my weight and is secret about it. He pulls me aside and says "it looks like your gaining weight"....and I say "I am? So, thats why my clothes arent fitting!".....he doesnt even get the sarcasm.

I've told him it bothers me. He's even seen me cry. He just doesnt care. I think it makes him feel better about himself to make me feel crappy. My husbands family lives 10 hours away from us. I just feel bad for my son. He is 8 and I know he wants to see my parents and my brothers kids. I just hate dealing with it.

Wow, this stinks...I hope the house is big enough to just avoid him as much as possible and if he starts in with the comments, give him the silent treatment. I think I would prefer to stay home rather than be treated like that, but it's wonderful that you are more concerned about what your little boy wants. Just be comforted that you're a bigger person and a better parent than he will ever be.

Thanks, he has sucked as a parent lol. I just want my son to have a good xmas. Im still undecided if Im going or not.
