Bad Advice!!!
posted 30th Jan '07
Reading around here, it looks like plenty of us have GOOD advice, but have heard of or been given BAD advice in the past.
So, those of you with a little experience under your belt (even if you're just in your 1st tri with you 1st baby), or heard a story from a friend or relative...
Share with everyone some BAD advice you heard someone give a pregnant woman, or gave you: cures for nausea that made you sicker; cures for stretch marks that went wrong; tricks to help you go into labor that just gave you "the runs"; breastfeeding tips that just made your nipples bleed; solutions for labor pains that didn't work and just made you frustrated; etc.
Then, share your GOOD advice (like you always do here): what did you learn from this? How did you handle dealing with the bad advice (or the person who gave it to you)? Why do you think some people give bad advice (jealousy? anger? frustration?) How can you tell bad advice from good if you're not sure? What would you do/are you doing that did/does work?

Do not tske mineral or caster oil. I hear everyone tell pregnant girls who are getting close to their due date to do this. If you do, your labor will be twice as miserable. You get the runs and crap all over your doctor and you have cramps on top of cramps. Plus if your husband is going to be in the delivery room with you...that is the last thing he wants to see.
