Why dont they tell us as much as they do in the usa? I mean ,im a week and 2 days over due and i dont even know how much im dialated or if im effaced atall..................... they seem to know from the minute they release an egg!

LOL! I've heard that from a lot of my family that lives over there. I think it may because here we demand to know. I know my doctors never volunteered much info. but I always asked.

I have to say, I understand what you mean. I spent most of my pregnancy in the UK, and returned to the US to give birth when I was 30 weeks. Things have been a lot easier since I've been back! The Doctors give you so much information and I felt like the midwives I saw in England didn't tell me much at all. I'm guessing it's just because it's the NHS. It's wonderful because it's free, but not as thorough as in the US, where we definitely have to pay for all of the services we get here. Sorry sister! My advice to you is tell your midwife/OB that you want to be checked at your next appt and they probably will. Good luck to you!
