Hey guys! I went into Labor and Delivery on Sunday night around 7/7:30pm with a gallstone attack. My nurse checked me and we found out that I was already dialated to a 3 and was having good (but painless) contractions so they offered an induction. Around 4 a.m. I started getting pitocin and got checked again at about 2p.m. the same day (Monday, Dec.17th) and I was dialated to a 4... doctor came in and broke my water shortly after and I started to get strong, close and PAINFUL contractions! I got checked again and was fully dialated by at the latest 3p.m. So yes, I went from a 4 to a 10 in less than an hour!! I did get an epidural though, I ended up starting to contract during the process and tensed up and had to have it redone. About 30-45minutes after my epidural the doctor came in and it was time for me to push. Mia Marie Harris was born on Monday, December 17th at 5:41p.m. She weighed 5lbs 3oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. She is a preemie so she was sent to the nursery after delivery for testing and monitoring. By 10p.m. I got to go be with her in the nursery and then take her back to the room with me. She stayed with me from then on. She is very healthy and doing very well! She see's her doctor on Friday.
