what is the "all done" sign? I haven't looked it up yet and just improvised.

Wow that's fantastic! I think it really taps into those kids who are more visual and get's their brains working differently. I've heard a lot of stories that are similar to this, parents told their children wouldn't speak, started signing and speaking, and over time their child really starts to communicate back!

I plan on exploring it and maybe teach my LO a few signs next month or so.

I'm surprised some people are against it. I've only heard positive things about signing to babies / children, especially if you sign and speak at the same time. My aunt is a speech therapist for kids 0-3 years old and she uses / teaches signs as part of her therapy lessons.

My 1 year old speaks more than my 3 year old thanks to sign. I plan on teaching this baby sign too

It's a lot of fun - and you should only do a few words at a time, so you get to learn with your baby.

I know quite a few speech therapists who incorporate ASL - I'm not surprised some people don't like it, everyone has their own opinion, and most aren't educated about the benefits. I'm home with my daughter all day, we need to do things to keep it fresh, and this is a fun way to do it.

You know, you will find a lot of the signs are pretty obvious, more so than you would think. Like "ball" hahaha.

I just found the "change me" (diaper) song on YouTube. I think I'll just start watching some of those YouTube videos. It's easier when you see someone on a video than just seeing a drawing in a book.
