do xanax cause miscarriages?

before i knew if i was pregnant i took a lot of xanaz probably nine in one weekend( i was very stupid and stressed out) a couple days after is when i took the pg test and started bleeding.. Could the xanax have caused the miscarriage??.. i know i shouldn't have taken them but i was not thinking that i was pregnant, i feel terrible

yes it does. my dr put me on xanex before i got pregnant and its now a class D i beleive. youre not supposed to take it while pregnant or breastfeeding AT ALL. so yeah it more hten likely did cause your miscarriage.

idk, but try smoking weed instead... wont kill you, or cause a miscarraige or get you addicted like that... xanax is no bueno

I've never heard of that. I've been taking them for years and have 4 children. Miscarriages are common. Miscarriages due to xanax are not.

i would assume overdosing on any medication is enough to smurf your system into a miscarriage.

i take xanax as perscribed but it should not be used everytime you get stressed.

i never take xanax so i'm not sure why i did this time usually i just stick to smokin the weed

i took em (and still do) but i didnt find out i was pregnant till 9 weeks..
and it took a month to ween me off of them.
its a class X so it is a no no when pregnant, but u didnt know u were pregnant, so dont beat urself up about it.

i took Klonopin up until about 5 weeks pregnant, i stopped taking them when i found out though, and i did have some bleeding at 6 weeks, but i am not sure if it was caused by that or not. Like someone said, miscarriages are really common so it could of happened even if you never took the xanax, i guess no one really knows for sure.

Yes.

Xanax, Clonazepam....Any benzodiazopene (sp?) can be potentially fatal to a growing fetus. It can cause stillbirth, and if you are early enough in the beginning, it can cause miscarriage.

Most doctors will take you off of it right away if they know you have been taking it.

exactly. In the study fetal death was ONLY detected when overdosed on its highest dose.
