Unless otherwise noted by her pediatrician, NEVER limit your child's intake of food. It may seem like a lot to you, but her instinct is telling her she needs the sustenance.

Dont restrict her food....if she wants it, shes gonna eat it....her doctor will let you know if she needs to be cut back...but dont make that decision yourself. Baby's brains are mechanically programmed to eat when hungry and stop when full.....Im sure she is fine!

If she's spitting up portions of that 7 to 7 1/2 ounces, than she's not actually eating all of that. She may want all of that, but is unable to hold it all down. However, if her doctors aren't telling you to cut back how much she is taking in, then don't. There is a good chance the only way she is getting the nutrients she needs is by "overeating" because she is spitting up so badly. Have they checked for reflux? If not, that's a good place to start.

Also, what formulas have you tried?

You know ive actually did some reasearch on that and i think thats what it is....Ive tried Enfamil the regular kind, one for frequent spit up, the one for fussyness and gas(thats the most recent they put us on shes still on it) Nestle goodstart regular, simalac regular(because thats the only kind i can get with WIC) and simalac with isomil

Goodstart is a REALLY good formula, but only if it's the concentrate and not the powder. It helps my sons A LOT. Unfortunately, it didn't end his spit up issues completely. Nothing ever would. It was just one of those things where we had to hold our breath and pray to God it was over soon lol

Have you tried the concentrates instead of the powders?

Concentrate REALLY helped us. My son's doctor said it was because you didn't have to mix it the same way, so there were a lot less air bubbles trapped inside and going into baby's belly. Just run out and buy one can of concentrate (they are the smaller cans!!) They are cheap and worth buying one just to see what happens. Even Enfamil worked better as a concentrate for our daughter. The thing is, powder is so much more convenient when you're not going to be home. But there are tricks for concentrate...if it works better for you, let me know and I'll give you a heads up on how to keep it cool while out and about :-P

My son spit up his entire first year... We changed his formula 3 times... He used to projectile... HE was on Enfamil with Iron... We changed him to Goodstart and he stopped projectiling, but still spit up all the time. So the doctor then recommended Similac Alimentum... WIC covered it with a doctors prescription. He STILL spit up all the time, but when he was on the hypoallergenic and still spitting up, the doc said he was just a spitty baby, and as long as his growth was on track, then just leave him on the Alimentum. He eventually grew out of it. Good Luck to you! I am sure yours will too!

Sounds exactly like my son/ Like I said, nothing ever took it away completely. But Goodstart did ease the problem and he held more down, no more projectile vomit.

LOL, I would have much rather kept him on Goodstart too, had I know the Alimentum would do the same thing! The smell of the formula is so vile!
