Hi ladies I am new to this sight. I am currently on my third pregnancy. My oldest child was delivered @ 29weeks due to IC. I never new I had this condition until my first child. She is a healthy 12 year old now   My second child I had a cerclage @ 15 weeks. and at 32 weeks my water broke due to infection rupturing my membranes . My son is now a healthy 9 year old. I am now on my 3rd pregnancy. I had my cerclage placed 2 weeks ago. my doc has me inserting metro gel 2 x's a week to prevent infection. my cerclage is being removed @ 36 weeks and I'm not knowing what to expect after that??? If any of you ladies that have had a cerclage and delivered after it was removed could give me a little insight on what to expect? THANK YOU!!

Hi im new to this site but also asked to join in on the fb page also. But i was wondering if anyone else is having trouble getting the Makena shot? I had the 17p shots during my last pregnancy and helped me get to 33 weeks. This time im having a hard time getting the drug company and my insurance to cover it. I had both my boys premature and my cervix isnt holding again during this pregnancy.

Have you already asked to join the fb group? I added someone today I believe so might have been you. Some types of insurance are hard to get to cover it. Has your ob fought for them for you?

I just got the surgery for ic I got the cervical cerclage and I am so nervous I am only 21 weeks I just pray I make it full term ...my first pregnancy 4 years ago I had no issues but when I got pregnant in 2010 and had a misscraige with no reason why I knew something was wrong I didn't get diagnosed with ic intill 20 weeks

yes m doctors office has been trying for weeks to get it covered. and yes you did accept me on the fb page. since we arent sure how long ill be able to keep this pregnancy we havent told anyone yet about me being pregnant again and so i dont post anything on fb where people can see. I was in the hospital in labor and delievery all night last night having contractions every 2 mins. They were finally able to get them to stop enough for me to come home and i have to see my ob in the morning. Hopefully we will be able to make it at least long enough to have this lil one survive.

I have a cerclage due to having cervical cancer,I'm 36weeks pregnant this Friday and having it removed,I haven't had to have bed rest but was told not to lift anything too heavy and take thing just abit easier,it's scary having one put in but so worth it to no your bundle of joy is safe.good luck ladies

Just so you know, only members can see posts (even if you see them in your time life) but they can see members in the group.

Well, I just found out I'm pregnant with my second after losing my baby boy on Dec 29, 2012 because of IC. I'm seeing my doctor next Monday but right now feel so nervous about everything. I don't know if I should be taking any extra precautions at this time. I know it's too early but can't stop thinking that maybe there are things I shouldn't be doing. Any insight?

I'm so sorry. I lost my baby girl December 19th at almost 16 weeks. How far along were you? You should definitely talk with your doctor about cerclage.

Just set up you ob appt and make sure you tell them you have ic so they will get you in soon. Push for a cerclage!

Just wanted to say hello to everyone!   New here and glad this thread is up. Its been 3 weeks since I had my cerclage done and wanted to find others that I can relate to.

I was 20 weeks. Right after my loss, my OB told me about cerclage and progesterone shots for the next pregnancy. Right now we're trying to determine exactly how far along I am right now to pick a date for the procedure. I just wanted to know if there's something I should be doing different this early. I'm supposed to be 4-5 weeks.

Im so sorry for your loss.
This is only my first cerclage but they never told me to do anything differently beforehand.
