The cervix changes from hard to soft depending on where you are in your cycle and also changes its location (higher or lower) with that. Could that be it?

If they went into your cervix they had to force it open some how which can damage it. 1# thing I have to say first is STOP checking yourself. If you do have it you are at a higher risk of infection because it can open on it's own at any time. #2 definitely push to have a cervical check. If that doctor won't do it, find one that will. Catching it early is one of the MOST important things!

She is pregnant though so she doesn't really have a cycle now.

A surgical abortion is the same thing as a D&C btw, with the same potential for weakening the cervix.

Well it's good you are being proactive! Now that you know something is going on leave your cervix alone and push for a cervical check. How many weeks are you?

8 and a half. I've been too scared to check lately.. I'm gonna leave it for the Dr to do.

8 weeks is really early for ic to strike not saying it can't but the baby is so small at that point there isn't much weird baring down on your cervix.

If I had not been so ignorant and had pressed the issue with my doctors I might not have lost my baby girl. I learned a very hard lesson about being an advocate for your own healthcare and doing whatever it takes to be listened to.

That would make sense, But I also didn't follow doctors orders after the abortion, exactly. Idiot mistake on my part, but I also didn't think I'd be getting pregnant a month later either.

Usually it happens around 16+ weeks...sometimes earlier. I am a believer that my cervix is natually short and just weak because my cervix at 11wks is only 2.7 with this pregnancy and with my last one. It never hurts to be checked...ever!
