I am SO done with this!!

okai so i know i only have a few weeks left...but IM DONE!
i had a really bad cold when i was about 14 or so weeks...i had bronchitis in december....i found out i have low iron a few weeks ago, this week i had to have surgery on a REAL bad infection due to a polidontal cyst...and i found out that im going to have to have surgery AGAIN after the baby is born to get rid of the cyst or it will cause ANOTHER infection...and i dont want that! it was so bad, i couldnt sit, stand, walk, laydown....NOTHING..the Er gave me percocet for the pain till i had my follow up, (no flaming please) i took one when i got home and OMG....it helped so much!
im not having fun! the surgery was definately the worst so far, and the doctor wants me to 'heal from the inside out' which means my DH has to pack gauze into the incision site twice a day, which HURTS like hell and while i can now sit, etc...its still not comfortable...3 more weeks of this until it heals!
the reason i have to wait to have the surgery on the cyst is because the recovery time is about 6 weeks and due to the infection, the incision site would have been HUGE to get around that AND to get the cyst
before this surgery i was all for a natural, drug free birth...but now...ha! i dont even want this kid to come out! im terrified! the surgery was SO painful.
im serious, i thought i could handle pain....but this surgery showed me just how little pain i CAN handle...there is NO WAY im going to be doing labor drug free...i still dont want an Epidural(im too scared to put things into my back) but ill take ANY other drug they want to give me!! im even up for putting me to sleep and taking the baby via C-section!
GRRRRR..............
okai, vent over

wow I had the exact same thing. I've had the cyst for years but never had a problem with it until my pregnancy...and it's been infected twice. The first time I was 5 wks and it wasn't a bad infection...the second time...yeah, I was in so much pain. That was in Oct and I hear you on not being able to sit...My hips were killing me because all I could do was lie on them...I'd wake up after an hr of sleep at night stumble into the bathroom and lie down in the tub and take a bath because that helped with the pain enough to let me get another hr of sleep...My husband felt so bad because I'd be in there crying in pain in the middle of the night and he couldn't do anything to help me. I really didn't think the surgery to remove the infection was that bad (although the doctor said he was impressed...so I guess maybe I'm weird...lol) and I wasn't in any pain afterwards...except for when the gauze would stick to the dried blood when my husband was changing it...What you should do is get yourself a little donut to sit/lie on...and if you position yourself just right you can lie down on your back for a few minutes without feeling the pressure of the packed gauze...OH! And during the changing of the gauze you should put something on your skin...some lotion or something to help your skin...because it will start to get roughened and sore from the tape...By the end of my two weeks (we could stop packing it with gauze after two weeks, but I still had to put a square over the hole) the skin where the tape was was the thing that hurt the most...and pulling the tape off made my skin bleed...I swear I can still see the outlines where the tape was....
I was told we had to do the surgery to get rid of the cyst after I had my baby because they would have to put me under for that...and unless it got infected again and made it absolutely necessary to do it, it would be better to wait till I'm no longer pregnant. Which for me, could be any day now (I keep hoping...) I know it's horrible and it's hard, but you'll make it. And if you're in that much pain you should call your doctor and see if they'll call in a Tylenol with Codein prescription for you...Mine called one in for me before I had the infection drained...but once the infection was gone I didn't end up needing it. But your OB should be willing to prescribe you something...
Stay strong! Maybe you'll be a quick healer and it'll stop hurting soon. ^_^ Good luck.

I am so sorry to hear that! Try not to worry too much about it. I know those things can be painful, but don't be afraid for the baby to come! Sometimes things get worse, health-wise, when you are pregnant. Jsut another thing to blame on horomones. Take care of yourself!
BTW, I see you are in Jax....NAS JAX or Mayport? (I assume bc of your SN)

thanks girls...its not so bad now....i think the worst part is taking the tape off, DH is pretty gentle when he packs it...and im starting to be able to sit okai without a donut...but i still cant lean back
as for the surgery for the cyst....im a little afraid of that mostly because im going to have a newborn to care for and my DH wont be here....ill have my parents, which willl help
and yeah, we're in jacksonville...DH is stationed at mayport
i just feel like this is the pregnancy from hell although nothing that has happened is really associated WITH the pregnancy! lol

Yeah, I've had some unrelated things that have made this pregnancy harder at times too, lol. That's good you will have your parents there to help when you need it!
My husband is at NAS JAX, and we get to go to the Naval Hospital over here for the delivery. Luckily, I've been in L&D here before, and it is so much better since they re-did the maternity floor!
