my grandmother tells me how to raise my son

ok i recently moved to north carolina and i'm living with my grandmother, she is the absolute sweetest at times but she always has side comments about what i do with my son. To me ahs makes me think that i aint doing a good job or it makes me question myself. She trys to tell me that she's only tryna to help but it gets to the point where she says something about everything. My son is very active, and I try to let him explore on his own unless i think he's going to get hurt. But she says I need to stay on him. Then also I'm a 911 dispatcher so i have to work 12 hour shifts, she made the comment that when i leave that he wont be as "smart" because she seems to think i dont spend enough time with him...so i feel like i'm stuck in a position cause ifi say anything to her it ends up in a arguement.....I'll be crazy by the time i move out...HELP

Have you tried the mmmmmm-mmmmmm technique? Just kind of nod your head and say mmmm but don't pay her much mind. Every once in a while throw in a "I'll have to try that." Then quickly change the subject. Sooner or later she'll lose interest because she's not getting a response out of you. Just a thought.
