i honestly dont remember it feeling anything like that. i refused to get an epidural and arrived at the hospital 7 cm so it was too late for IV drugs. it all happened really fast when i was pushing. a nurse tried to make me do lamaze breathing, i told her "i cant do that shit!" and proceeded with my own slow breathing.

i cant stand how they wait til you need to push to set the table up. and they keep saying wait dont push yet!

I wish I wouldve know that as gross and embarassing as it is and wasI would and its normal (not always happening but normal)to have a bm in the middle of delivery.
Or how everyone in both of our families would be so inpatient and go out to luch and dinner when I wasnt allowed to have anything but ice chips while waiting for him to enter the world because i started the inducement at 7 am and he never arrived till 10:46 PM.
Or that my nurse would have no tact when telling my mother 5 minutes before he crowned that I didnt want anyone but my husband in the delivery room instead of the white lie that I suggested that she wasnt allowed there.

I wish I would have known:
- that it is ok have your hubby give a formula feeding so you can sleep... you are not a bad mom
- that eating like crap while pregnant will cause weight issues when the baby comes out
- that buying a light colord travel system was a BAD IDEA
- that newborn size isn't One size fits all... I would have brought a preemie outfit to the hospital
- that the pregnancy will drag but you will miss it so much afterwards
- your MIL will critize you NO MATTER what you do so take it with a grain of salt
- to bring wipes to the hospital because all they gave us was disposable dry rags

Wow! That took me about an hour, but I got to read it all!!! Thanks everyone for the input!!! Now I am a little concerened cause I found the perfect outfit for her first one home from the hospital and its 3-6 months at the smallest. Although we have a wedding to go to in July (when she will be 3 months) I still really want her to wear that one home. Maybe I can take it in a little bit and just let it out afterwards (or have grandma take it back out...keep her busy). It is a dress so mainly the waist and shoulders (plus its sleeveless). Also, right now she is measuring on the small side, cause I have an autoimmune disease and apparently her size/growth can be small because of that. Any thoughts on taking it in?

ok, well when I had my daughter, I had an epidural, which means I got a catheter (which I didn't know was going to happen) and the first time I peed after having her was WORSE than the labor itself. That good ole squirt bottle became my best friend! The first time I peed, I screamed and I heard my mom kind of giggle, I cam out and she said, I know what thats about!!!

I wish I knew that a post vaginal birth is very, very painful. I couldn't walk or sit right for 2 and half weeks. It was nothing like I saw on "Bringing Home Baby."

I didn't have to get a catheter with an epidural. Try to make sure you go pee before you get one because it takes awhile after you had the baby and you can feel your legs again, so you won't be able to walk. The nurse asked me if I wanted to get one, and I said I'd wait for the epidural to wear off.

aheck- My baby was 7lbs, and he only fit in newborn clothes. That's the smallest size, then 0-3m, then 3-6. So I think you're baby will be swimming in those clothes!   My son is 4 months and 12lbs and they fit him now.

*Lacey* and everyone else, one of the best pieces of advice I got for vaginal pain afterwards is to sit on your boppy! Then there is not as much pressure right there!
