trisomy 13 and 18

I had an ultrasound today and am wondering if anyone else has dealt with this or has more information on it. The Dr. found 2 cysts on my baby's brain, she says there were no other signs that come along with it, the heart was measuring and beating fine and all organs were fine but they wanted me to take the blood test to find out more information. I had the choice of the blood test or the amnio but I know there is a great risk of losing the baby with the amnio so I refused it for now. I am very worried, and she tried to comfort me by telling me that she has seen cysts like this many times before and without the other signs it could be nothing. I am just not sure if she was trying to make me feel better or if that is true.

If anyone has any advice please send it my way, any information would be wonderful.

I don't know anything about either of those trisomy conditions, but my advice would be to pray.

I amhuge advocate of prayer and spend alot of time doing it! It gives me something to do with my worry....instead of worry and fret, I worry and pray....makes me feel better! "All things asked in prayer, believing, will be answered" Matthew 21:22

I am sure everything is fine! A postive attitude is a huge part of the battle! Remain postive and Im sure all will be just fine!

The heart being in good condition is an amazing sign!!!!!!! I will pray for you. my cousins little girl has trisomy 13(i think oh shoot now that i look at it is could be 1  anyways, she is a little miracle baby! she is 2 years old and is finally weighing in at 12 lbs 9 oz. But they knew immediatly she had the condition there were many signs. Prayer has been her saving grace! I am just sure you will be ok!

However, the info it quotes about amnio is a bit outdated. The current miscarriage risk associated with amnio is about 1 in 1000 (or 0.1%).
