My husband and I were stationed in Germany when he got the news that he was deeploying. Right after we got the news, we also got a postive pregnancy test. He left when i was 15 weeks pregnant. The doctors are inducing me, so HOPEFULLY he will get to be around for the birth. Then he will be back for good hopefully next november (15 month deployment)

We aren't dealing with deployment as of right now because hubby just went through his 3rd sugery on his feet last week. When he was in Iraq in '05 for OIF 3 he rolled his ankles a lot and tore all the tendons and ligaments off both of them. He had surgery on one ankle March '06 then had surgery on the second ankle March '07 and just had surgery last week on BOTH ankles to remove the screws from his heels. He's home right now on Con leave until Dec. 28th. He gets Christmas off, yay! haha. But until he's okay and released from profile and from the DR no deployments and no PCS for us. Which kinda sucks, because we're stuck at Fort Irwin until the DR says, OK you can go now.

Thanks for the concern about my husband ladies! I guess when he was working on one of the planes he hurt his good shoulder (I say that because the other one has been messed up for years) so he cant really work right now, but they cant send him home any earlier either   The only good thing that might come of this is if he gets off the flightline, because he would get to do another job in his squadron....

To all the ladies who have their men deployed, I'd love to talk to any of you any time you want to.
How many of you military spouses are overseas?

Once you get married, there will be resources you can use to help you set up housing and everything... ou just have to seek them out. Also, as soon as he enlists and you are married, make sure he enrolls you in DEERS and he gets you an ID card.
Without an ID card, you pretty much are on your own. But there are resources available for family membersif you need them.

LOL if your not sure what that is, its Power of Attorney.
Without that you are screwed, (but on the other hand he can fill one out no matter where he is and mail/fax it to you.)

Lol... my mom was Military Intelligence for 25 years and now works for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. My husband always jokes that she's like Jack Bauer from 24.
