re: Military families!!!

posted 3rd Dec
I'm pretty much hating Chris's job right now. Stupid Air Force. They had him in Tech School for 10+ weeks and they're STILL having him do classes! He's freaking missing everything and now I have to do the bedtime routine all by myself, again. Ugh.

I mean, the class is important (it's about the new J model they have here) and he needs it, but seriously. It was supposed to be over at 1730. It's now almost 2000 and STILL no Chris.

My husband just found out he has orders to Korea. it's an unaccompanied tour. i could go since i am in the military too (both cops) but we wouldnt be able to take katie lynn.we would BOTH be away from her for a year   or he could just go but then he would be away from both of us. fortunatley, they are considering letting him turn them down. THEN find out that they need a staff for a deployment leaving in jun and since i have a line for staff they are thnking about sending me. i dont know if i can leave my daughter for 6-8 months. i know all you ladies have husbands that have to go all the time but i dont think i could do it as a mom. i am so glad there is somewhere i can post about this now! also, you ladies are all so stronghave to send our husbands off to war. It is almost easier for me because i know exactly what he is doin, where he is going etc. you are all so strong and believe me, deployed husbands know that and appreciate that.

My husband left about a week after we found out I was pregnant. Thankfully he's in the Navy and will only be gone for 6 months (if all goes well, anyway. He may be extended longer, but I'm thinking positive!). This is my first time having him leave me for that long, but I had a while to prepare for it. It's hard not having him for the Holidays, but next year this time we'll have our baby with us, and that just keeps me going.

For those of you whose husbands leave for over a year, my heart goes out to you. That takes a VERY strong woman.

We had to move to LRAFB when Mya was 2 weeks old! Let me tell you, getting a doctor's approval for that after just having a c-section is tough work. I hope your move goes smoothly.

It will go by faster than you think. I know you probably don't believe that...but it does.
Just keep in mind that you most likely won't hear from him every day.
Try not to get your hopes up about anything.
I've kept a very open mind about what is going to happen and it helps a lot.
You'll will be super busy with the baby, so that is helpful.
Good luck.

Thanks! I don't expect to hear from him everyday. I understand a little from reading about everybody else. it's just so scary since we just got married a few months ago. But I know I gotta be strong for him and my babygirl.

It is scary, but you'll be ok.
What doesn't kill you will only make you stronger.
My husband has been gone for 18 months, deployed to Iraq for over 12 of them.
Trust me...if I can do it...anyone can. Ha.
