I worked for an Optometrist. Any legit place will not give you RX contacts without a new and verified scrip.

No, when ordering online I've never had to type in my doctor's number. Just what my prescription was......never had anything verified either. However, when I've purchased contacts in stores, I've always needed a valid prescription. A lot of places offer free eye exams if you plan on purchasing your contacts/glasses there....it might be worth it just to order from the store if you have to. Good luck!

Hm, that's weird. Every site I had search for before had to have verification. Maybe it's now a days that you have to do that. If all else fails, I will have to hunt for these stores.

Go to Walmart. Their exams aren't too expensive. I want to say it's $50. That's where I go. I've been going there for years now.

What?! I don't know about all that. When I went last time I had my exam and I ordered a box of contacts and my total came out to about $90. The most I paid at Walmart was $300 and that's because I need an exam, glasses, and the lenses.

The last time I went was in July because, like you, I needed new contacts and my prescription expired. For the exam and box of contacts I paid $80ish. It might have been a few dollars more but no more than $100 that's for sure.

My prescription hasn't changed in years either!
