Looking for the latest OMG

posted 30th Nov '07
Well being a Mom of a 15yr old I'm a little out of the loop on things like strollers. I had a Emeunga buggy type and well I don't even think they make those anymore. Now the comparable is a Bumblerider as far as I have found on the web. Can anyone help me I want to buy one as a gift. I have seen the newest craze is the bugaboo...I also came across a brand Rockstar that is designed by Bon Jovi looks just like the bugaboo. I guess I'm looking for the OMG statement stroller! Help me out

I have no idea about strollers. I just bought one that went with my winnie-the-pooh theme and was affordable. Mine comes with the car-seat too! But there is a place if you haven't already found it where you can search for strollers on baby-gaga. It should be on the top right corner and right under where it says pregnancy it will say strollers

Depends on your life style, i doa lot of walking so i went for a Mutsy and you can have a carrycot or a lay down carseat which i loved, which is a small version of the carrycot and has 3 postion so you dont have to move baby from carseat to stroller and the normal seat and also a fun seat which is like a little car, and everything attaches to the chassie, it has adapted to my dd who is 2 now..... http://www.mutsy.nl/products/urban_rider/options

or the icandi apple http://www.icandyuk.com/apple.htmthey also have a pear which is a lighter version, and if you decide to have another both buggys can become a double

You'll want to check out the Musty. Not sure where to get in the US, but you'll definitley get some looks. More expensive than the Bugaboo and looks pretty swanky/new age.

Found another OMG item, but clothing, at www.iconicbaby.com. Some funky little modern designs and some nice organic options.

Happy hunting!

We test drove the Mutsy and it's a tank compared to the Bugaboo! The Mutsy Urban rider can have either 4 large air-filled tires, perfect for rougher terrainor 2 large air-filled in the back and 2 small, more manueverable wheels in the front, perfect for malls! It can be folded with the seat attached, unlike the Bugaboo. However, it doesn't push anywhere near as nicely as the Bugaboo! The handle bar doesn't reverse. Plus, the Mutsy 4Rider wieghs 31lbs w/the toddler seat attached and theUrban Rider wieghs 25.4 lbs as opposed to the Bugaboo Frog's17lbs and Cameleon's 20lbs! But, the price tag on the Mutsy is a little nicer then the Bugaboo's!

Check out the Quinny Buzz and Peg Perego Skate (which should be released this month)!

S.Daud...I don't think youfoundEmeunga when you googledit...because I think she meant Emmaljunga. (just a guess) They are pram type strollers, like the Bumbleride Queen B. Here's a link:
http://www.emmaljunga.se/
I think they are beautiful...but, Ihate the carriage style...they are great fortaking a stroll...but, aren't at all functional for the on-the-go Mom!

Quoting s.daud:“ oh lol hahahaha thanks chele...yea i was like what kind of a stroller is that that doesnt come up on ... [snip!] ... the back, isnt it hard to steer then?...thats the same thing with the peg perego uno...i asked them but they never responded...”

I think when the big wheels are infront you are supposed to lock the smaller wheels so they can't swivel. (I'm sure it's the same for Uno) But, I never do, because I hardly push it that way and if I do it's for a short distance. So, it feels like you are "fish-tailing" in a car, only it's controllable. So, I wouldn't say it's hard to steer...but, it's definitely something that takes getting used to. However, If I locked the small wheels I'm sure it would be really easy to push...like a carriage!

why is it so hard to get nice strollers in the USA and, made in USAlike europian ones, some of the things i have seen for babies, clothes, baby stuff, are lovely, that we don't get in England, but when it comes to strollers it stops.... You can go into a baby shop in England 99% of the times you are spoilt for choice and can have a play around to see if that is what you want... But the strollers in the states are so borring (sorry to say that).... in Europe we have MUTSY, PEG PERGO, BEBECAR, QUINNY, BEBE CONFORT, SILVER CROSS, JANE... They are top quality prams, I know you can get them shipped over, but what happens if you have a problem with them..... The shops that do sell them in the states, they don't have all of the accessories.... I even seen the quinny been sold in our big supermarket..........Confussed

Here in the states theysell all those branda minus Bebecar & Bebe Confort. (which I've looked at and personally wouldn't buy anyways) There are only 2 baby boutiques here in Savannah and between them they carry...Mutsy, Stokke, Bugaboo, Quinny, Peg Perego, Moutain Buggy, Bumbleride, Silver Cross, Britax, Combi, Inglesina, Mia Moda...etc etc! Plus, the accesories...car seat adaptors, cup holders, footmuffs, parasols...So, I don't think the US is lacking in selection...you just have to know where to look! Pshh...if I can find all those in the small city of Savannah, it would be a piece of cake to find them back home in San Francisco or any other major city! And as far as getting them fixed, they all have US distributers or else they wouldn't be sold here...

I will agree that american made strollers like Graco, Evenflo...etc etc are bottom of the barrel for quality and style...but, if that's all some people can afford then who are we to judge!?

yea ur right chele...some people cant afford 1000 bucks on a stroller...but well...those who can...why not!!! anyway, about my question, so would you turn the stroller by pushing it down and then turning it if you needed to turn it?

I dunno but I think the front wheels in the front look weird...

its not the selection, its the American strollers, there is so much in America that is amazing, but not in there strollers, we also have diff price range so it depends what you can afford and i am not judging, people that buys them, , but alot of people over seas seam to be going for europian strollers....... In Austraia the Quinny and mutsy are there n1, and pay anything to get them shipped.......
