Well, I couldn't sleep, I was scared, angry and sad that she had to have it done. My comfort was that she was in very capable hands and her surgeon was very reassuring in letting us know she needed it. It was the longest 4 hours and night of my life. CICU will be hard, you're going to cry, but just remind yourself that it's for the good and wellbeing of your son.
Stay strong and my thoughts are with you.

Thanks momma. It helps to know another momma pulled through and that your baby recovered well.

Marcus's Caridiologist said to let Marcus cry cause it increases his bloodflow lol. Too wierd. When he was in nicu the nurses let him cio cause his doctor told them to.

Your doctor said it's not a big deal then I wouldn't worry too much. Just keep an eye on him, and you can never spoil him

Marcus just has a decreased blood flow due to his condition. Him crying actually makes his heart beat more there-for pumping more blood through his body. I never knew this. It's pretty interesting if you think about it

The dr told the nurses to CIO!? That's horible. Poor scared baby!! I just found out my son (18 months) has a "slight murmur". He has his first ever ultrasound tomorrow. I'm terrified. I tried to not google it. I find that google makes all things medical into worse case scenerios. So, here I am, reading about peoples children having open heart!? ~FACEPALM~
I'm also worried about how well he will take the ultrasound... can't imagine it being easy... well... time to attempt sleep. (Not looking promissing.)

my son is 4 and at his last check up they heard a murmur so we have a cardiologist appoinment later this month. I hope everything is ok since no one else has ever heard it before. He was in the NICU after he was born for a sugar IV because I had GD and they didn't hear it then so I'm hoping maybe this doctor is being cautious. I had an ex who had a hole in his heart they didn't find until he was 18 and he had to have open heart surgery and it was terrible for him at the time. I keep watching my son to see if he gets winded or his lips turn blue or anything...
