dancing- harmful to baby?
posted 28th Nov '07
So I work at a Boy and Girls club and we teach them hip hop r&b and reggae routines and although sometimes i cannot dance and it starts hurting in about a half an hour I would still like to dance because it makes me happy and keeps kids out of trouble. I am just 2 months and I have no idea if this is harmful. I do keep it simple these days because i know i cant be pullin any crazymovements. But does any one know if it is harmful?

girl I swear I danced all the way up to my 9th month! no lie! expecially when my friend came to visit from out of town... I was about 8 months. I'm talking about boody dancing, walking it out, two steppin the whole nine.. and a lot of belly dancing to shakira! I got tired really fast but i think thats about it... I dont think its a problem.. I actually read somewhere that belly dancing was good to do during pregnacy...as long as you not doing any flips and head stands you should be ok...not too ruff i'd say.... but hey dont take my word for it

my doc said any exercise you were able to do comfortably before being preggers is ok to continue doing to keep yoo fit if you start getting uncomfortable take a rest before starting again

If you were doing it before you were pregnant, it is ok to do now. The discomfort you are feeling is probably just from your joints relaxing due to hormones. Just be aware that you have to take it a little easier, but you can still have fun and do what you like. I'm still dancing around my house at 30 weeks! I know I probably look hilarious and I'm not nearly as graceful as I used to be, but it's the only excercise I've ever liked!
