Can you feel when you are dilating???

Can you tell or feel when you are dilating..I have heard you can feel it like there is something down there...but others say they didnt even know until the doc told them!! I was just curious...

no but i will say you will feel alotta pressure towards the end.ya you'll feel the babys head down there but you cannot feel dilating....who ever told you that its untrue.

The doctor told me that you can feel your bones spacing apart & that usually happens when you start to dialate... I can't remember what he exactly called it, but from my doctor's viewpoint there is some truth to it. I wouldn't say you feel the actual cervix getting thinner & opening, but some women can feel pain when they dialate.

I was 1cm dialated at last Wednesday's appt. and I think I could feel myself dialating. I have been feeling the same menstral/contractions in my cervix that I felt before. I have another Dr's appt this Wednesday and I'm sure I've dialated more because I can feel it.

I went to the dr. today and she told me that I was 2 centimeters. But I had no idea. wasn't expecting 2 cm at all. But it's probably different for everyone.

with my second...i kept thinking i was dialating...and i hadn't...then i didn't think i was...and i had dialated to a 5+...but...that was luck...talk about a great labor and delivery
