ABNORMALITIES FOUN ON ULTRASOUND!!!

HEY Y'ALL !
MY DOCTOR FOUND SOME ABNORMANILTIES ON MY ULTRASOUND AND NOW IM WORRIED, I HAVE A DAUGHTER WHO IS HEALTHY AND NOW IM AFRAID MY 2ND WILL HAVE SOME TYPE OF BIRTH DEFECT. IM READY FOR WHATEVER, ANY OF YOU HAVE THIS PROBLEM????PLZ WRITE ME A MESSAGE OR REPLY TO THIS!!!!

I am sorry they may have found something... but, remember, there is a high rate of false positives.  Are they going to do any follow-up tests?  I hope that your baby is very healthy!  Good luck!

What were the abnormalities? Did they tell you?

thank u so much, they found that the baby had a swollen kidney, theres another name for it ofcourse and also the baby had some extra heart tissue and something about the umbilical cord haveing 2 vessels instead of 3....i didnt get that part because i was busy taking the news in, so i have to see a specialist next week....im afraid my baby will have down syndrome or some type of B. defect....

It's so easy to worry, but try not to!  The added stress is no good!  The next week will feel like an eternity - but just focus on doing whats best for you and baby - relax!  And make sure you update us asap!  I'll be praying for you and your little one - that all will be A-okay!  Again, good luck!

I'm so sorry : ( I'll keep you and your baby in my prayers. Sometimes these scans and all the tests and stuff are wrong. Here's to hoping they are *hugs*

My daughter had a swollen kidney at my first ultrasound. My doctor reassured me that this was normal, especially in early pregnancy. By my 2nd ultrasound the kidney was completely normal. She is now 3 almost 4 and very very healthy!

when i was 22 weeks they found cysts in my sons kidney and ive been going to a specialist ever since. and it hasnt gotten worse and they say he will be ok no matter what cause humans can live with only one kidney. i freaked out. only to be told that everything will be ok. So dont worry to much the stress isnt good for you or baby. good luck,

I don't know about the other things, but the 2 vessels in the cord aren't anything to worry about. My sons cord only has 2 and it is perfectly okay. Not normal, but okay.

Hey, they found the Single Artery Umbilical on me 2 weeks ago, that is the 2 vessel thing you did not quite catch. I've done research on it on my own and all I'm trying to do is keep myself positive and optimistic. I'll keep you in my T&P, but it is called SAU - Single Artery Umbilical and my baby girl's umbilical has it as well...

My son was born with his stomach, kidney, liver, intestines, and bladder on the outside of his body because there was a hole right next to the embillical cord from his body just never closing his abdomin wall completely while he was forming. He is completely fine, he spent 2 months in the NICU, but now he is 15 months and you would never ever know. And I have completely forgotten all about how long those 2 months seemed, the doctors and nurses these days are spectacular at what they can do. I know defects can be hard to learn about while you are pregnant, but at least these days it's not a surprise at birth and the doctors are prepared and take the proper measures needed during pregnancy. And I pray nothing is serious with your baby, but just know that no matter what you will be stronger than you ever thought you could be and so will your baby. They are such miracles. Good luck.

wow, there are miracles.....i feel much better hearing your story. but u know how it is being a mother, u worry so much, to the point in which i jus want my baby to be ok an im not worried about myself...my mom is so worried, i hate seeing her like that. the doctor gave me an earlier date to see a specialist, instead of dec 13th now its the 6th so i jus cant wait....i was so anxious to know what the sex was but now i dont care at all, i jus wanna make sure the baby is going to be ok an be able to be normal, i dont want him/her suffering.

my doc found something in my ultrasound. something about a big kidney. but she said it would be fine not to worry but my last ultrasound it was the same so she is sending me to a specialist dec 13 to do more research on it. she told me not to worry about it still. so thats what im trying to do. so dont worry about it it will only make things worse
