I currently have bronchitis, and am 23 weeks pregnant. I also seem to have a lot of asthma suddenly, said the doctor. The only thing they prescribed me was first a regular inhaler that just opened up the bronchial tubes like for asthma, but it wasn't enough. Then I went back in last night and he prescribed me a steroid inhaler that I can take up to 3 times a day. But today when I woke up, I felt like I had been hit by a truck, and every part of my body is sore and achy, still can't breathe, have a fever of 100, and have had to be in bed all day. I have an appointment with my midwife tomorrow to make sure the baby is alright, but I haven't been so miserable before. Even my eyeballs hurt to move.

Thanks for all your posts. I'm 32 Weeks and going through an episode of bronchitis. I am asthmatic, and every cold I get seems to turn into bronchitis, as did this one. I have only used my albuterol inhaler on two occasions since becoming pregnant, in spite of my doctor assuring me it's safe. (I read online that it's only FDA approved "C"). My OB prescribed me Zithromax (FDA approved "B") and I'm wondering if it is worth the risk, and my search has lead me to this forum. It's comforting to know others are taking it too. Still haven't decided on it yet though...

Bronchitis itself is to contagious. You get bronchitis from a viral infection you have already contracted. I have had chronic bronchitis since I was a baby, from my dad smoking around while I was a baby. Second hand smoke cause bronchitis as welll
