posted 14th Sep '10
this morning i went to pick my son up out of his swing....and i find him with his diaper undone and poop all over his legs, hands and mouth. he's too young to know what's even happening (4 months) he just got his hands in the mess and is teething so of course is gnawing on his hands. will he be ok? should i take him to the doctor? he is EBF if that makes a difference in his poop lol...can't believe what a little trouble make i have on my hands! TIA

Just wait until they became toddlers and start using it as paint at naptime lol...my daughter's eaten poop quite a few times. I've tried everything to try to keep her diapers on but she manages to get past any clothes layer I put on her, and she knows how to rip off training pants, so naptime's a very scary thing for us at times lol, I often have to check on her every ten or so minutes to make sure she's not poop picassoing her wall.

My cousin would wake up to her baby girl in her crib with her poop all over the place. she would stick her hand in her diapers and pretty much use it as paint on the walls and on her body.. it was disgusting.. and im sure it got in her mouth but she was always fine, just give the baby a very good scrub down in the bath and make sure no more is in her mouth.

He should be fine, at about 5mths my youngest reached into his diaper in the middle of a change and got some on his hand and ate it   he had no issues and is perfectly fine.

my housemate's 1 year old did the same thing at 10 months... and that poops prolly a lot worse, and she was just fine. It's organic, lol. Just keep a closer eye, if you can. i got a video monitor on ebay, to i could better avoid that type of event. Good luck!

Ignore her, I'm fairly certain the majority of us thought that was an idiotic question by the looks of the replies she's gotten. Smurf needs to get done, I totally understand that, and I used to do the same thing. The swing was a blessing when stuff needed to be done around the house lol.
