Has Your milk turned to colostrum. He will probably hang in there. Just a few more weeks yay!! And your mature milk will probably make him happy to pick up more frequent nursing.

Colostrum tastes really salty and Lydia didn't like it. It is kinda gross tasting IMO. Mature milk tastes a lot sweeter

I don't buy into the whole dairy thing. I don't get how dairy would increase yours supply at all? And for calcium there are far better sources out there. Just saying

Quoting HippieBabie EBFT:“ so how many times a day were you bf him would you say?”

I work full time so I would say actual nursing...3x/day between morning and evening feedings and then comfort nurse through the night. I also try to pump twice a day at work. That is how it worked with my son and it seems to be working really great with my daughter now too who is 8 months old. Johnathon is down to only comfort nursing mainly before bed and through the night.

Dairy doesn't increase your supply it's the calcium. I ate cheese and yogurt and took supplements. We don't really drink cow milk at our house but calcium is extremely important while pregnant so you can make all those little bones without it coming from your bones

I should probably introduce myself, so you ladies don't think I'm some creepy stalker (for those who don't already know me).

Hi! I'm "dream" and I have a cute little (ok, not so little) 6.5 month old I like to call WigglyBuns who is EBF. I didn't plan on TTCing #2 so soon, but AF started again last month, so anything is possible. I didn't know anything about tandem nursing or nursing during pregnancy until BG.

I thought I'd have to wait until my son was at least 2 (I plan to BF him at least that long) and THEN I could start to TTC. But I like the prospect of having one more and "getting it out of the way" (pregnancy didn't agree with me last time).

So I'm here to watch and learn all I can about tandem nursing and nursing during pregnancy. And kudos to everyone that's been there/ done that!

I know right...that would come in very handy for me right about now.

Good luck on TTC your next little one when you decide too. I love having my kids close together actually. Even though the last two were not really planned - I wouldn't change it for anything. I thought it was hard to get pregnant while breastfeeding and since I had not had a period I thought we were safe. 3 months post partum from having Johnathon and I found out that was not true in my case. I am one of the lucky 2% that ovualtes while breastfeeding and not having a cycle.

With baby #5 we were using the diaphragm, EBF Emma and nursing John and still ended up pregnant 3 months post partum. My midwife jokes that I would have had a better chance of winning the lottery, lol.

you should buy a lottery ticket the day the next one is born. =D Hey you might have him/her on my son's b-day (Feb. 23).

so I've always heard "your milk dries up when you are pg". Is this true just for some people or is it more of a supply/demand thing? For example, I have always had an oversupply (though it's starting to regulate better) and if I got pg right now, then I'd want to continue to nurse full-time. Would I have to worry about my supply drying up if my LO was still nursing as often as he usually does (every 1-2 hours)?

Mine never "dried up". Lydia didn't actively nurse after 14 weeks either so I'd say it's not true for everyone.
