Very interesting. I am 30 weeks along now and baby kicks up a storm when DD nurses and I definately feel the contraction. My midwives said it was nothing to worry about but its nice to know others experience the same thing.

My biggest problem is that I actually dried up while pregnant but DD still likes to comfort nurse if I put her to sleep. (Usually DH puts her to sleep) Since there is no milk the suction can actually be a bit painful. When my colostrum comes in I want to be sure that the little one gets all of that but once my milk is in I don't mind if they share. I am not sure how to balance that... A lot of people have told me that once DD sees the little on nursing she will want it a lot more frequently too.

My milk dried up after I night weaned. DD is in full time daycare so that only left one morning and one night nurse. It wasn't enought to keep up my supply.

I think if you are feeling resentful or hating it then you need to set some boundaries - that is why I chose to night wean - the wakings were driving me crazy so DH took over nights. I think that people should BF for as long as you are BOTH enjoying it but when you stop enjoying it then you may find it is better if you cut down your feedings. Part of the reason that BF is so good is the bonding aspect but if we're feeling resentful then that aspect isn't there anymore k.w.i.m?

Anyone else experience massive food cravings while tandem nursing? Its like I cant take in enough calories, and want to eat all this crap that isn't normally in my diet.

I was such a healthy eater before my son and now I eat like garbage. It is embarrassing but it's almost like I cant help it, I compulsively eat.

i used to a ton, but i stopped. Its weird tandem is making me do it again.

I asssume it's just the fastest way to get calories...I don't know  . It started when I got back to my prepregnancy weight. Like my body used all my fat so now it is craving everything in sight.

I am about 15lbs to my pre-pregnancy weight. But i wont get back like this lol

Haha I know I tell myself eat stuff like avocado and nuts and stuff that might help reduce my sugar craving. And I buy super healthy foods and then call my husband BEGGING him to bring me home ice cream within a day. It's pathetic. And now my 3 yo is weaning and I wont even have an excuse and I'll have to face reality, lol.

I am currently nursing my 14 month old and just found out I'm pregnant! My nips are KILLING me!!!
I am really hoping she continues to nurse, I hope to nurse her at least 2 years & longer if she wants.
I am super excited about baby 2, but feel like I let my daughter down sometimes. I am petrified I will lose my milk  

you guys(those of you who are pp) are lucky you got to tandem like you wanted, you missed out on the conversation I've recently had to have with my 3 year old lol

He has recently shown interest in nursing again.. while I won't deny him, its an awkward conversation. His brother LOVES that he is showing interest.. he has been "hugging my boobs" while his brother nurses, and my 10 month old is holding hands with him and playing with his hair, its adorable. Now I know what I missed. He is in total awe of where milk comes from though, its hilarious. He brought me his cup of milk last night that was almost empty and thought he could use it like a tap   he put his cup on top of my nipple and said "whooooosh" thinking he could fill it up. Sorry son it doesn't work like that  

I'm going a bit nuts on being constantly made awake by the two boys. My youngest is turning one next Jan. I want to wean my 2yr+ but I can't bear to and can't get over the guilt emotions but to be frank I feel tired out. But proud my 2nd is still nursig so long lol

Hellooooo everyone. Just found the thread. I am currently tandem nursing my 22m old and my 3.5 week old. Has anyone noticed their toddler gain weight even though they may eat less solids? MY 22m old is nursing SO MUCH that she hardly eats and then has been looking chunkier lately. She also is peeing so much (we use cloth) that shes been peeing through two huge inserts every night. Its driving me a little crazy. And my boobs are HUGE. I mean 34 DDD Ive never been this huge befre and its highly uncomfortable.

I'm kinda worried about this! I'm due in about two weeks and I've heard this happens with toddlers... I guess I wouldn't mind, at least it's healthy and I can spend more time recouperating and less time cooking.

we are at 8m tandem nursing today!
oldest is 2 yr 10m
youngest is 8m (duh   )

there were times I wanted to give up and times it still drives me crazy and I'll admit, I hate nursing them actually at the same time .. .but overall it's been a good experience .. but one I also do not want to repeat. hope that makes sense. how is everyone else doing?
