Ya, I think I was just used to it by then, breastfeeding has always been painful for me, it just gets worse sometimes and better others. When I first started breastfeeding, it hurt worse than labor. I made my husband leave the room, I cried almost every time I had to nurse, lol, it was pathetic.

Breastfeeding NEVER hurt for me until I got pregnant again. So this is kinda overwhelming at times because I am in no way used to it.

oh I'm so sorry! That's horrible! good for you for sticking with it, but I know it's really hard to nurse through the pain. I had a recurring clogged duct for a few weeks and I cried nursing through that sometimes. I currently have a small cut on my right nipple (my left one has JUST healed) and it is SO painful to nurse on that side. I can't imagine doing that for months and months. I don't know if I could do it even with being as dedicated to BFing as I am.

Ouch   those are the worst, is it from being bitten? Or just from getting used to nursing a new baby again? And I really didn't have the choice, lol. We couldn't afford formula and I wasn't going to get formula from WIC when I was physically able to breastfeed, I felt guilty enough about quitting my job and getting on Medicaid.

I'm not sure where the cut came from. I didn't notice anything different from normal. it was just all of a sudden there from one nursing session to the next.

I can't catch a break. Throughout pregnancy, I just kept telling myself that it would be better once I wasn't pg. I counted down the weeks. But now I'm 5w 4d pp and in so much pain every time I nurse. I have cracks on both nipples now. Just as one starts to heal, then the other side gets one (so far they have each only had 1, but I pray this does not become a cycle).

It's getting so discouraging. I hate that I just want to avoid BFing all together.

In some good news, Finn actually let DH put him to sleep last night! No nursing to bed! That's the FIRST time that has ever happened when I have also been at home. =D

If it helps at all, it probably wont become a cycle, unless Leo has a bad latch, bit I'm assuming you know what to look for. Cracked nipples do suck   sorry that's happening.

And Yay for Finn and you!!! I'll bet your DH was pretty eased with that too.

yeah, DH has been doing his bedtime routine since Leo was born and this time Finn was already resting on his shoulder and he said "I'll try and put him down". It usually doesn't work, but this time it did!

Unfortunately Leo DOES have a bad latch. I've worked with him a lot and got it as best as I can, but he has a lip tie which I need to get clipped, which I can't do until I get a referral from his pedi to a surgeon since the regular pedi dentist won't do it. He has his first check-up on Wed next week, so I'm just holding out until then and praying that he won't give me too much trouble about the referral and that I can go ahead and get it done after that pretty quickly.
